Fat Man & Little Boy - These were the names of the 2 atomic bombs dropped on Japan at the end of the 2nd WW. The film tells the story of the development of these by a team of scientists in New Mexico and the pressures they were working under. Starring Paul Newman & John Cusack this was made in 1989 and is a worthy effort.
Worth a look.

Pirates of the Carribbean - At World's End. Not seen any of the previous movies in this series but this one was all over the place. A rollicking good jaunt and it doesn't really matter what's going on. Must have cost a fortune to make and enjoyed most of the main performances.
Pretty good of its type.

Deja Vu - Starring Denzil Washington who is investigating a terror attack on a ferry in post Katrina New Orleans. A quite complex tale which centres around the peripheries of time travel and toys with a few interesting ideas.
An enjoyable watch which I recommend.

Stay - A comedy which also explores the ins and outs of honesty. An interesting film which had me laughing out loud at times, it's definitely a good indiscretion which the female lead admits to and just that will keep your interest if you are interested in women who suck dogs off.
Well worth watching.

The Mist - Stephen King adaptation, aforementioned Mist descends on the Eastern seaboard after a storm and is riddled with fearsome creatures which kill everything in sight. Our heroes hole up in a supermarket and finally make a bid for freedom with tragic consequences.
Not bad.

Big Nothing - It's got Simon Pegg in and I've liked everything I've ever seen with him in it, not this one though. It's a black comedy with David Schwimmer in it too but it just doesn't come off and degenerates into an unconvincing farce.
Give it a miss.

The Lake House - A really crap film with Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock in it. A very weak plot and nothing to recommend it. I stopped watching about half an hour from the end.

Thankyou for Smoking - Good little film about the exploits of a lobbyist for the Tobacco companies and the clashes between his professional and personal life notably as a father.
Very well scripted and performed, worth a look.

Zodiac - True story of the unsuccessful hunt for a serial killer in the San Francisco area from 1969 onwards. Features Jake Gyllenhall & Robert Downey Jr. Not a bad film if a tad over long.
Unlike this review.

Watched The Dark Knight in Northampton yesterday.
What an awesome, awesome film. Heath Ledger was simply spectacular as The Joker, and Christian Bale managed to create the most terrifying Batman in the whole series of Batman films. Great acting by everyone in it, and fully action-packed.
Definitely go and watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Oceans 13 - Seemed like a decent film but I was so knackered from my kayak trip that I couldn't stay awake all the way through.
Fell asleep and missed the end.

Bullet Proof Monk - Sort of martial arts in a modern American setting. wee poor plot which had the nazis maurauding around Tibet in search of the scroll which would give you eternal life.
In fact the whole film was poo, bodyswerve it.

Red Eye. Apart from the fact that Rachel MaAdams (who I'd never heard of before) is gorgeous this is a pretty good thriller &, unlike most modern films, it's short. Only 1hr 18 mins!

Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind - Tells the story of Chuck Barris who was a TV producer who lived a double life as a hit man for the CIA. Directed by George Clooney and quite well put together.
Kept my interest, I'd watch it.
