Well, that'll be the end for international cricket at Old Trafford for a while. What a shambles.

Disgrace and as you say Dawsey, Old Trafford screwed for a while.

It was screwed anyway.
Not much could be done about Sunday, but the captains even agreed it wasn't particularly suitable today

Not much could be done about Sunday, but the captains even agreed it wasn't particularly suitable today I agree with them too. As Bumble said on Sky though, the big question is WHY is was unsuitable. I don't buy that crap from the Lancashire bloke about the pitch sweating for a second - I can only assume that the covers were too weak. That patch of ground looked like a parks football pitch in November.

Nottinghamshire v Yorkshire live on Sky Sports woohoo!!! Although Paul Allott and Bob Willis are commentating, the spineless pundits.

We've pl;ayed before when the covers have had to come off in light rain to stop it sweating. Although Twenty20 + improvisation = more entertainment, which is what the format is about

Day/night games work in the height of the summer, not in September. Nowt much the Lancs groundstaff can do because the Old Trafford ground tends to get boggy when the rain kicks in. The mudholes wouldn't have dried as the temperature does drop at night.
What are the chances of the 7th Eng-Aus ODI at Durham getting abandoned or a reduced overs match? The ECB seriously needs to rethink how games are allocated to who.
To have two Twenty20 games straight after an Ashes Series is pointless. Those Twenty20 games don't have an International Ranking and most of all there is an ICC Champions Trophy to play. Between the final Aussie ODI and the 1st Champions Trophy game, England only have 5 days to get to South Africa and prepare themselves.
The Aussie Twenty20 games should've been before the Twenty20 World Cup, a good way to prepare for the Twenty20 World Cup and to get the country in The Ashes mood.

No way! That idea is way too sensible for the ECB (Essentially Completely Bollocks)

I noticed that earlier, having a game anywhere in late September is risky, but especially up there. There's probably more chance of SNOW stopping play in that game!

Oh no, Worcestershire could only manage 154 in reply too Warwickshires 453 and are forced to follow on. Could do with Worcestershire batting out 4 and a half sessions to save the game but can't see that happening.

Warwickshires innings win has pulled them to near safety while Yorkshire are batting for the draw, Joe Sayers and Jacques Rudolph put on a stunning 244 opening partnership.
It looks like Hampshire, Sussex and Yorkshire for the relegation battle but Hampshire and Sussex have a game in hand over Yorkshire. However Yorkshires final two games are away to Sussex and home to Hampshire.

Dwayne Smith bowled a quadruple wicket maiden tonight, including a hat-trick. Great stuff - hopefully now Essex can do us a favour tomorrow and we can secure our second trophy of the summer

Bangladesh agree a day/night test match with England news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/8247211.stmSounds very exciting, hopefully Headingley will get the day/nighter. Then again with the Bangladesh test series on during June, it'll still be daylight come 9.30pm.

Good to see Warwickshire have all but sealed survival, but they need to strengthen their bowling attack still. Woakes can only continue to improve, but other bowlers need to be more consistant. We've been linked with Kabir Ali, who could prove to be a good signing, although I'm not convinced by figures of 11 wickets this season at an average of 37.81 and if it hadn't been for one innings of 6-68, it could be so much worse.
Worcestershire have had their inevitable relegation confirmed. They've promptly bounced straight back the last couple of times, but with Jones, Davies and Batty leaving, plus the departures of Kabir and Moore looking likely, they could find it harder next year.

COME ON YOU BEARS!!! Please please please beat Sussex so Yorkshire can go to Hove next week, knowing that beating Sussex will practically ensure survival for the Yorkshire.

Been to Headingley this evening for the Yorkshire-Gloucestershire Pro 40. Yorkshire convincingly beating the Gloss by 8 wickets, both teams fielding a weak bowling attack as both teams had nowt to play for. Just that Yorkshires bowling attack is that bit stronger teehee! Whats more interesting is Yorkshire opener Joe Sayers got a 50 and his strike rate was in the 80% mark!!!
Might be off to Scarborough on Monday 21st September for the 2nd XI Trophy Final against Lancashire.

Well. We're 13 points ahead of third after taking maximum bonus points. We have a crunch game against Essex next week and follow up the week after with Leicestershire in our final game, we should beat them. They're the pits of 4 day cricket.

Warwickshire beat Sussex by an innings and 2 runs - woooooohooooo!!!
4pts seperate Yorkshire (7th) and Sussex (8th) making Wednesdays county game between Sussex and Yorkshire muhassive! Yorkshire could guarantee survival if they beat Sussex but only scoring maximum points and Sussex score no more than 3pts.
The last two Sussex-Yorkshire games have been muhassive encounters. 2007 a title winning scenario, 2008 a relegation scenario and this year another relegation scenario.

Also congratulations to Durham for successfully defending the County Championship. Who says that only Southerners can win the County Championship because the weather is drier?
Well done to the Northern cousins.

Second year running.
And a certain Yorkshire member of this board called Durham a 'glorified minor county'.
Crikey, what would that make the rest of the first class teams in England?

Glamorgan today draw with Essex to cut our lead over thirs down to 11 points with Essex third, who we play next week.
Today we skittled Surrey for 134 in the pro40, and knocked it off in only 15 overs with Niall O Brien getting 84

Congratulations to Kent on promotion and sealing the 2nd Division title.
Meanwhile down at Hove. Yorkshire were 164-6 yesterday as Chawla ripped throught the top order, step up Ajmal Shazhad (88) and David Wainwright (85*) to help steer Yorkshire to 403 all out. Sussex 126-1 in reply.

Sussex end day 2 on 233-4, well hope the pitch is turning corkscrew come day 4 but no doubt it'll be easy to bat on and a draw is the more likely result.

FFS. We've blown it good and proper. Not really as Northampton are playing against "The Mighty Leicestershire". Win is almost in the bag, just keep plugging away and the rewards will be reaped. Would prefer Derbyshire or Northants to go up rather than Essex. Derbyshire at home to Essex Gloucestershire at home to Kent Glamorgan away to Surrey There will be a televised County Championship game on Wednesday, either Yorkshire-Hampshire or Derbyshire-Essex.
