Maurie Fa'asavalu makes GB team!!
The guy is Samoan, he played at the 2003 Rugby Union WC for Samoa, just because he has lived in the UK for 3 years he should still have to play for Samoa, especially with a world cup coming in October next year.
However i am happy he is playing for GB cos the guy is awesome, great tackler, good with the ball in hand, and without a doubt the hardest man in rugby league

Great Britain 44-0 New Zealand
Absolute disgrace of a kiwi team!! Probably the worst touring side to come to Britain ever!! Did nothing in the way of even trying to win!! None of them deserve to ever wear a test jersey ever again!! Not the greatest return to Hull for probably the two greatest players to ever wear the black and white irregular hoops of Hull FC-Gary Kemble and James Leuluai the current kiwi coaches
Although i must say GB were impressive, both with ball in hand and in defence, and were unlucky not to score 60 maybe 70 points, thats how bad NZ were.
And i payed £20 hoping to see 2 teams totally commited, both wanting to win, but no there was only one team that turned up and that was GB

That's odd, normally New Zealand are awesome and can give the Ozzies a good run for their money, while we suck!!

Disagreed - less brutal, not technical, tactics aren't as important, union is generally of a higher quality.

How is league less brutal?? Have you seen some of the hits that are made??

How is league less brutal?? Have you seen some of the hits that are made?? Yeah but there's no rucking in League. There's also brilliant hit's in Union. e.g Chabal on Masoe, Vickery on Magne, Lewsey on Rogers, Lima on Hougaard etc'

That's what i meant, i appreciate both have big hits but obviously in League there are no rucks or mauls.

Should put this in debates... I enjoyed watching the RUWC, but League seems more orginised, whist Unions just a big scrap with a ball in the middle... Of course, some people like it for that exact reason!

MOST games of Union are won by scoring tries, not the other way round as you seem to be saying. Most games England are playing on the other hand...

Lets just remember both are completely different sports, the only thing they have in common is the word rugby and the shape of the ball used

And your only allowed to pass the ball behind the game line as well!

There you go Tiger ......... the oval balls a comin'
Byrne's blown away by support
TODD Byrne can't wait for his first taste of the KC Stadium atmosphere after being blown away by Hull FC's fans on his debut.
The 29-year-old former New Zealand Warriors utility player was overwhelmed by the support the black and whites received last week at Dewsbury.
Around 1,500 fans made the short journey to the Tetley's Stadium, but it is the noise and not the numbers which captured Byrne's attention.
He told the Mail: "It was a new experience. The big difference for me was the crowd, who were very vocal, it was an awesome experience to play in front of that crowd.
"They were really loud and it was awesome to see them singing, clapping and cheering throughout the game."
The former NRL Grand Finalist will make his home debut this Sunday in Paul King's testimonial and is already counting down the days until the match.
After taking a tour of his new home, the player affectionately known as "skinny", is eager to sample what he has been told is one of the best atmospheres around.
He added: "I've been out and had a look at the ground and it looks an awesome place to play.
"It is very similar to the Suncorp in Sydney and after visiting I'm now excited about getting out there and hearing the crowd.
"Hopefully it will be a good size crowd and everyone will get out there for Kingy's testimonial. He's been a great servant to the club and we all hope everyone gets out there to support him."
Peter Sharp has named his strongest available squad for Sunday's game, although a doubt remains over the fitness of Shaun Berrigan after he again missed training yesterday.
Hull FC's 20-man squad: Motu Tony, Todd Byrne, Craig Hall, Tom Briscoe, Kirk Yeaman, Gareth Raynor, Danny Washbrook, Tommy Lee, Shaun Berrigan, Adam Dykes, Ewan Dowes, Paul King, Richard Whiting, Garreth Carvell, Danny Tickle, Scott Wheeldon, Lee Radford, Danny Houghton, Mike Burnett, Ashley Thackeray.

Sharp rocked by HULL FC's nightmare
PETER Sharp admitted he is concerned with Hull FC's mounting injury problems as doubts surround Richard Horne's fitness for the season ahead.
Half-back Horne could miss the majority of the season with a damaged foot which has so far kept him out of pre-season.
Horne is due to go for a scan today to determine exactly what is wrong and he will discover his fate in the next 24 hours.
Horne's injury was compounded in yesterday's pre-season 30-22 defeat to Huddersfield as captain Lee Radford broke his thumb and Richard Whiting suffered a suspected broken arm.
Star signing Shaun Berrigan also left the field with what could be a serious shoulder injury.
With six first-team regulars already absent, Sharp is now worried about the impact the injuries are taking.
"The injuries are a concern as we had six first graders who didn't start the game and now we've got another three" said Sharp.
"That's nine players, which is a fair chunk out of any side, so it is a concern.
"Richard (Horne) has a foot injury. Without pushing the panic button, he could be medium to long-term.
"I'm not a doctor, and it would be remiss of me to suggest an amount of time, but foot injuries are fairly severe and it looks like he has got some problems. It is a blow."
Matt Sing (foot), Graeme Horne (pectoral injury) and Willie Manu (foot) are all currently missing, but should return to training soon.
It doesn't make good reading for Sharp, who takes his squad on a week of warm weather training in Portugal on Thursday.
The coach admits he is still undecided on whether to leave some players at home to continue their rehabilitation and will make a decision in the next two days.
Sharp remains cautious on his players' return, adding: "We hope to have a few back in training next week like Willie Manu, Graeme Horne and Matt Sing possibly, which will take the pressure off a bit.
"We will have to wait and see how we go when the dust settles, but the injuries are a concern."

Horne Out For Season!!!!!! RICHARD Horne could miss the entire Super League season if his worst injury fears are confirmed this week. The Hull FC stand-off will undergo a scan tomorrow to discover the extent of a foot injury that has already kept him on the sidelines for 13 weeks. Star signing Shaun Berrigan could compound Hull's woes in the next 48 hours, with the former Test star having a scan today on his injured shoulder. The hooker, who has signed a lucrative four-year deal, has undergone shoulder reconstruction in the past. Should scans prove the 29-year-old has damaged the troubled shoulder again, Berrigan faces joining Horne on the sidelines for a lengthy absence. Horne's injury is not as straight forward, with a ligament coming away from the bone in his foot believed to be the problem. Coach Peter Sharp is keeping his fingers crossed the news on Berrigan will be positive, but is bracing himself for the worst with regard to Horne. "First of all I can't put into words how disappointed I am for Richard" Sharp told the Mail. "Losing Richard for any period is a massive loss and I had envisaged him making a big impact alongside Adam Dykes. "From what I understand the problem in his foot is very hard to cure. It is a very severe injury and one of the worst you can get. "We just don't know at the minute what sort of time frame we are looking at. It could be six weeks, it could be six months, it could be even longer than that." A terrible few days on the injury front for Hull got worse today with the news captain Lee Radford will be out for eight weeks after having his broken thumb pinned. Radford underwent an operation on his injured hand yesterday after suffering a break against Huddersfield on Sunday. Richard Whiting joined Radford on the operating table after breaking his arm. After having a plate inserted, the second-rower faces a far longer spell out and will not be back in action for at least four months. Radford and Whiting join Matty Dale (hamstring, out for six weeks), Willie Manu (foot, awaiting scan) and Graeme Horne (pectoral) on the sidelines,

Opinions on this (tiger may have an interesting view):
Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield is contemplating a possible switch to American football at the end of his rugby league career. Sinfield, 27, is currently with the Rhinos on a pre-season camp in Florida, which has included training with the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team.
"American football is something I have thought about," said Sinfield.
"It might be a good opportunity to sample a different culture and still play a part in top level sport."
The goal-kicking loose forward signed a new four-year contract with the Super League champions last year.
But he added: "You can't play rugby league forever."

And so the 2008 season is upon us ..........
Leeds 20-12 Hull KR Leeds: (4) 20 Tries: Donald, Smith (2), McGuire Goals: Sinfield (2)
Hull KR: (6) 12 Tries: Jake Webster (2) Goals: Jake Webster, Murrell
Champions Leeds left it late to snatch victory over Hull KR as the new season got off to a thrilling start.
Scott Donald opened the scoring in the left-hand corner, before Jake Webster stretched to get the ball down on the try-line for Rovers, adding a goal.
After enduring a Leeds battering after the restart, Webster charged half the length of the field to score.
Danny McGuire's pass and kick-through set up Lee Smith for two Leeds tries before he scored the clincher himself.
Leeds had the better of the opening exchanges, and went ahead when Donald was left unmarked to get on the end of Keith Senior's pass and score in the corner.
But the introduction of Ben Cockayne drew instant rewards for Rovers, as his incisive run allowed Webster touch down for a try.
After a cagey first half, the tempo of the game rose visibly after the restart.
Leeds had the visitors on the back foot so it was a shock when Rovers stretched their lead, which happened when the Rhinos seemed to pause en masse for a breather after a passing move broke down
From the resulting turn-over, the ball came to Webster on the half-way line, and his electric pace left the defence trailing in his wake as he charged in to score.
Ryan Bailey's double move wasted a great scoring chance for Leeds, but within minutes Smith made inroads into Rovers' lead, flying over in the right-hand corner as he rounded off a cross-field passing move, involving two superb contributions by McGuire.
Sensing there was another try in the offing, Leeds piled everything into attack and wasted another great chance when Clinton Toopi's wayward pass to Rob Burrow brought the move grinding to a halt.
McGuire was integral again as Ben Gallea fumbled his kick-through and Smith was quickest to react and score, with Kevin Sinfield adding the goal.
Ultimately, Leeds' domination of second half possession proved decisive and it was a deserved reward when McGuire powered over for a try of his own at the death to seal victory.
