BENITO Carbone has confirmed Athletic are one of four clubs interested in signing the veteran Italian.
The 37-year-old, who has played in the Premier League for Aston Villa, Bradford City, Derby, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday, has expressed a desire to return to English football.
Apparently Carbone has said that Wigan Athletic, Sheffield United, Walsall and Athletic are the four clubs which have expressed an interest.
Please... no!

Delusional Geordies seem to think Fraizer Campbell wants to play for a championship side in freefall with no manage and an owner who wants rid of the club more than a premiership team were he is adored by the fans and the only way is up....oh and we are apparently signing Michael Owen

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is monitoring Tottenham right-back Alan Hutton ahead of the January transfer window. Think he might be lucky as Corluka is first choice & I've been impressed with Naughton in his few appearances. Knowing Bruce though, he'll probably try & get him on the cheap & I can't see Levy letting him go without recouping the major part of the £10m we supposedly paid for him.

No real surprise though, is it Luke? They are usually just paper filling flights of fantasy. Sadly, I can see this one happening:
Portsmouth are hoping to sign on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara on a permanent basis. The 22-year-old's temporary deal at Fratton Park expires in January. Full story: The Sun
I love Jamie O'Hara. He's not the most talented player, although he does have a sweet left foot, but he gives 100% EVERY TIME and teams need players that are committed to the cause. On top of that, after transferring from Arsenal at 14, he came through the academy and it's always great to see a homegrown player make it in to the first team.
