Have always wanted to go to Chester as it's Tudor buildings look beautiful. Only they're not - Tudor that is. Learned yesterday that they are actually Victorian repro's! You probably knew that already Otto?

I learnt that as a STH, I get 10% off in the club shop. Shame that doesn't cover the only thing I really buy in there really - tickets.

Interesting fact from an Ofcom report: Whilst 87% of homes in UK have digital tv 57% of all those homes are watching the main 5 terrestial channels!
Shows just what crap generally is on the other channels apart from movies & sport. BBC4 being just about the only exception as, IMO, that does have some decent programmes.
Would have been interesting to see how that 57% broke down between BBC etc. though. Channel 5 = 1%?

EGREGIOUS (pronounced i-gree-jee -uhs) - Does anybody know what it means? I didn't even know it existed but what a great word. It means extraordinary but in a bad way.
And I thought the pace of life was too much for me in this country! In Shanghai, in 1992, there were only six buildings over 100 metres tall. This year, just sixteen years later, there are now over 4,000.

I learnt that a heel on a ladies shoe has a metal screw thing in it, and that when this screw becomes visible the shoe has to be taken to a shop so that a new piece of plastic can be put on the bottom.

The mycelium that mushroom develop from, much like ourselves, breathe oxygen in & exhale CO2.
The Birds Nest Olympic Stadium had special flexible steel developed to be able to support the structure in an earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter scale & move with it. It's so hard it took a man a full day to weld a metre - and there are 320 kilometres of the stuff!
Health & Safety Rules OK! In India every train driver will hit an average of 70 people through their career.
