I have admittedly been in mourning since mid-February over the loss of the legend that is Super Mick McCarthy (unfortunately not so super in the final stint of our three year Premier League adventure), the next club who get him will truly be blessed with his straight to the point, hilarious post-match reports and, simultaneously, the turgid hoof ball we have had to suffer. Nonetheless, I find myself eagerly anticipating a Championship season with virtually no expectation of Mr. Solbakken nor no idea as to what his playing style and systems will entail - though I fully expect us to put up a fight for the top six placings should we keep hold of Matt Jarvis and Steven Fletcher (stranger things have happened, right?) not to mention this is the first man to take a Danish club to the quarter finals of the Champions League - beating none other than Barcelona and Manchester United along the way!

I fully expect you to be challenging up there. Certainly as long as I've been following football you've always been too good for the Championship and not quite good enough for the Prem. I don't see why this should change.

I agree with Fez, you'll be there or thereabouts. It'll be a tough league next year so I think you might just miss out on promotion but it will be tight.

It honestly depends who we keep - if we manage to hold on to one of Jarvis or Fletcher (hopefully both, realistically neither) we'll have a fighting chance. Thankfully we were left with a dynasty of good Championship players.

Can't believe Fletch went to Sunderland for £14 Million, I thought Wolves were mugs paying £7 Million for him.

Seems Wolves are doing better than I thought without Mick there. Hope they do come back up, if only for some easy points for the Big 5 clubs.
