There are many variables involved when it comes to making a successful football club. You need good players with a good manager for starters and if you can find players who will give blood, sweat and tears for a club, that would be far more satisfying for me than to see a club buy success like Man City and Chelsea.
I hate seeing clubs like City being able to buy any player they want to, to virtually be able to buy the best player for every position there is.
Jealousy? No, not really. I mean, if middlesbrough were taken over by billionaires and were in the same position as Man City, I wouldn't like it to be honest. I'd much rather if they just bought two or three world class players to take that step up towards challenging for the Premier League and competing in the Champions League. The whole game is being ruined by ridiculously high transfer fees and players who are more satisfied with earning high wages than trying to help their club become successful.

Once the UEFA financial fair play takes effect, clubs going on spending sprees will be a thing of the past. The likes of Man City and Chelsea are only spending now to have a squad that will last for seasons to come.
In future, clubs with the best youth and coaching infrastructures will stand out from the crowd.
