all rounder ever? His bowling has always been excellent but he has become more consistent with line & length this summer. There was never any doubt about his batting talent but the question was did he have the mental strength to make the most of it? Well, I think he dispensed with that worry with that magnificent record breaking partnership with Jonathon Trott (shame he's South African - a great batsman. I'll let him off though as he's been a Spurs supporter all his life!). It's almost unbelievable that a No.9 can come in and score 169 let alone break all those records along the way.

I seem to have read somewhere that Stuart Broad was a batsman in his youth, but when he grew a foot in a year at 16-17 years old he was converted to a bowler.
Age is definitely on his side, it shall be interesting to see how Broady can perform in Australia and India in the 6 months or so.
