France coach Raymond Domenech said he felt "a great sadness" after his side crashed out of the World Cup after losing 2-1 to hosts South Africa. Had Ireland rightly qualified in place of France, they would have put up a better, braver team and added some spice to the competition. Nobody was needed to defeat France, they brought in on themselves. Foolish players, foolish boss, foolish federation.

Je suis tres content avec cette result! Je ne pense pas que c'etait juste pour la france etre dans la Coupe de Monde dans le premier place! (I'm very happy with that result! I don't think it was fair for France to be in the World Cup in the first place!) 5 years of French, that!

No other team deserved it more - unless we put in another abject performance this p.m.

Absolute joke a team, bloody French being melodramatic as usual. Granted Domenech was clearly a clueless joke of a manager but the player's reaction was inexcusable. Our lot are clearly overpaid pooe but at least there was no threat of boycotts and refusal to train. Mirrored in the general public striking about the retirement age being raised to 62 to an extent, overreaction from the drama queens...
