After a fine 1-1 draw in the 1st leg, Bangor City are looking to progress into the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Europa League as they play their 2nd leg on Thursday night at Wrexham. Bangor City having a slender advantage over FC Honka with the away goal. Match report from the 1st leg. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/8822843.stmIncidentally, the two sides played against each other in the same round last year with Honka winning 3-0 on aggregrate. Although Bangor City were trailling 2-0 in the 1st leg, they had a real go in the return leg and came close to scoring on quite a few occasions before Honka came up with the killer blow. For the optimstic and the believer, there is a genuine chance that Bangor can make Round 3.

As the old saying goes, football is a game of two halves.
In the 1st half, Honka more or less camped in the Bangor half and were so intent in putting the game beyond doubt. Just as Bangor created their first attack, Honka went built up from the goal kick and Sampo Koskinen scored a 25 yard curler into the far top corner. Bangor could've crumbled but they were very paitent and defended resolutely, Bangor had a little attacking period in the final 5 minutes but the final ball was lacking.
As the 2nd half wore on, Bangor became more productive and final third of the game was end to end stuff. Honka had their chances to win but Paul Smith was an inspiration in the Bangor goal with some pointblank saves. Around in the final 15 minutes, a Honka player had a glorious chance from 6 yards out only to blast it over.
Bangor really went for it in the last 10, at that point it looked like the lack of finishing was the difference between the two teams. However, Bangor won a corner in the 84th minute and Dave Morley rose above to head home the equaliser. After the equaliser, Bangor persisted and pinned back Honka in their own half. It paid off as a cross went in, ill defended and Chris Jones tapped in the winner in injry.
The 3 minutes of injury time seemed eternity as Honka made one last push, a beautiful high ball into the 18 yard box caused problems for Bangor but eventually it was dealt with.
The full time whistle went and the travelling home support almost lifted the roof of the Yale Stand as they celebrated deliriously. In Round 3, Portugese side Maritimo are the opposition.
