I feel Wooler can help reincarnate the forum - the infrastructure is all there, it just needs tweaking.

I've asked for the Other Sports thread to be on the main page rather than the sub board some time ago but nothing has happened. That used to be on a regular basis before it got moved for no reason.

bissy your perfetly right... it does need a kick up the arse a big one, the members i mentioned above are keeping the board alive and i dont think we can keep on carrying it along like we are for much longer. Admitidally we now all lead busy lives with work and uni and such moreso than a few years back in the forums prime, but we all have time for facebook/twitter/myspace etc but no time to make a quick few posts on a forum tht we all once loved. I hate to say it but its dropped off alot since the departure of olly mid last year. Just taking a quick browse down the top posters list, ther are respected members and top posting members that havent posted much or at all this year and some that havent even logged on. No doubt the forum is going through a difficult period, they all do. So i propose possibly a mass email reminding that RHS is still here and open for busisness, ya never know it might cause afew to awake from the dormant state and give the red bull style boost it needs to be like a steady stream of coffee. So in short, give 10 or 15 minutes a day that you will normally spend twating or facefooking and naturaly more if you can. And stealth.. what the chances of emailing all the members as a reminder that RHS is sitll here? What was a from a good point form bissy got turned into a mini rant HAHA im good i am A good kick up the arse is defo needed

Since we all lead busy lives then why not let the current regular users have full admin rights to the forum? That way any changes that need doing can be made straight away.

Kick it up the arse, go on kick it up the arse.
I don't post as much as I used to but will certainly stick around.
Actually there's very little moderation needed at the moment as there is nothing contentious going on at all.

yes at the mement there isnt, but if current none posting members just give 5 minutes a day minimum (its starting to sound like a charity case i think ) moderation will be needed

time for another mini rant a follow on from the last one This is a extract from the top posters list (more than 500 posts) whome havent posted this year or have only posted once! Mini name and shame Sam - once this year thefullback - last year may a king of orient (astounding?) - dec 2008 dawsey - sept 09 likeasharkinafunnyhat - jan 09 nuneatonskyblue - feb 09 andynufcfan - sept 09 Rachh...[TOYC]...2-1...(L) - nov 08 bigmouth - feb 09 ftmlad - jun 09 diamondgeezer1 - oct 09 now there is 11 members whome all have over 500 posts, only one of which has posted this year sam and only once, the other 10 date as far back as november 2008 since the last post made. For some reason they are top posters, we need to aim whatever we do at the above list as (well everyone really). other stats include 45 without ever making a post AND 35 making under 10 posts totalling 80 who have posted less than 10 I dunno about anyone else but a new members takes a look down that list and sees so many members that havent posted this year will put them right off. RHS needs a kick up the arse! then reignight it with a fire fart

People have the choice to visit the forum or to make a contribution. Posters come and go for their own reasons. All good and well asking them to come back or getting new users on here but it's a two way thing, they need to be encouraged to stay.
I would like to salvage the forum by making it more user friendly but it's impossible to do so without admin rights.

of course i cant dispute that ppl come and go, but to reignight the fire we have to look at the members we have on the books already, getting a few to post more will be a success to build on to entice fresh blood
i do agree that the forum needs to be made more user firendly and possibly a clean up as well
the forum seems a bit slow but has the foundations like a behind schedual building project, its all there and there is a adequate staffteam and a handfull of members who contribute regually.
a few brainstorming sessions and the fuse being lighted will eventually ignight it with a BANG!

Giving admin rights to the hardcore users would be a good start, then we can discuss tactics and make changes. Since the forum is dead I don't think there will be much in the way of objections.
One idea of mine is to make the myspace and facebook RHF accounts open to the general public.

My idea of generating interest is to buy the RHF domain and those credits, i'll even pay for it myself but I need admin rights to make such changes.

Hi guys, best of luck getting the forum back up and running, but personally I dont see much point in hanging around any longer, the banter has disappeared, the fun has gone and any real debates soon get shot down with the childish arguments which so often happen on here. This place used to be a fantastic forum with many varied topics discussed and all members would show respect to others points of view, unfortunately that isn't always the case these days, I log on from time to time but between the poor quality of posts and the lack of the so called 'old crew' I no longer have any real desire to post on here. Stealth Otto and Sam feel free to remove my 'mod powers', it is a shame this place was once great but ask yourselves if you were knew to this site and stumbled upon it by chance would you join?

I have an idea on how to get this place going again. I am setting up a new Forum; loosely based around this place. If we can get those hardcore posters switching over to the new one then new posters may be attracted to a place where there is a hardcore set of posters and not a list of members who have beggared off for ages. I would need some Staff and any Staff from here willing to become Staff at my one only have to ask me and you will be added. I will buy a domain but will need to ask for help with credits. I will also need someone who is good with Graphics to help the place running and looking nice. Surprise......surprise A former regular member (who now can't be arsed posting on here) comes on here to promote their new forum and attempts to leach off the remaining users. The remaining regulars want to keep this place running, SOLELY BECAUSE IT HAS THE HISTORY. If one is to look for new members for a forum, at least have the decency to propose forming AN AFFILIATION (In other words an arrangement that works TWO WAYS)

I will also need someone who is good with Graphics to help the place running and looking nice. Now i dont agree with this, advertising a forum and asking dfor staff and members, makes me think that you want to cut the air supply off! Right lets get this sorted now shall we... it wont work simple as that, your asking for the hardcore posters to join a new forum. Prevous experience tells me every time a new forum is created, members are lost as they dont like swapping and changing. The forum here had a massive advantage over any new forum, ok its a bit dormant right now but the content and the member base is ALREADY HERE, not to mention the HISTORY, you cant just get that over-night con you. The forum here just needs a little tweeking which posting members are prepaired to contribute to a new forum to me takes more work and members whome have been around here will be reluctent to leave, the tweeks can be made to make the forum attractive to all. The key of everything is that RHF had the foundations of a good forum, members, content, history, most new forums will die out before that. Im speaking for myself here and im not sure how many its also good for but im more than happy to help this forum out as its been here some time, BUT IM NOT PREPAIRED to help start a new forum. Mark, im out, not going to offer my help and im sure others will feel the same, for we have plans and to come in with a new forum is unconsiderate. Best of luck of you do go down that route but dont directly advertise here as believe me it WONT look good for your forum. Guarnteed!

If either Wooler or Henry want to take over as admin I am perfectly happy to pass it on to either of you as I feel it probably needs someone younger to try & rejuvenate RHF. Please PM me if you wish to take it on & I'll give you the password for the admin account.
