news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bradford_city/8504480.stmBradford City boss Stuart McCall has resigned as manager of the mid-table League Two club. McCall met with joint-chairman Julian Rhodes on Monday to discuss his future after Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Bury left them 16th in the table. The West Yorkshire club will now employ a short-term manager until the end of this season, while still talking to other candidates, and will make a permanent appointment in the summer. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The dreams of McCall taking Bradford up the leagues might be in tatters but he helped bring the club closer to the fans and indeed the City of Bradford at a time when the club was dying a slow death. The season ticket iniative continues to become a success, theres more claret and amber shirts in the streets of Bradford, our average away support almost 1000 which is brilliant considering we don't have big Yorkshire derbies. McCall was so close of promotion in his 2nd season, but the last leg of the season City crumbled big style even though teams around us weren't gaining much daylight. Players have made mistakes this season (Simon Eastwood, Luke O'Brien, Zesh Rehman are responsible for conceding most goals this season and I blame them for forcing McCall to resign). In hindsight McCall should've brought in reinforcements but I feel he didn't because he backs his men to the hilt. As for the next man in charge, this will be a load of fun as half the lower league and unemployed managers are linked.

Seems a shame as you're almost as close to the play off positions as the relegation ones.

In that respect it is a shame
Without being too arrogant (for the record i'm enjoying and appreciating what lower league football is about) City have to get out of League Two in order to progress. The running costs of Valley Parade (including rent) is £1.2 Million per year. Also McCall set his sights on promotions and in his own words that "if I don't acheive promotion, i'm a failure"
McCall set his stall too high whilst a different approach was implemented for each season. In our 2nd season we tried to buy our way out of League Two but failed, this season it was a young player element to it after signing half a dozen under 23s.

Apparently 40 people have applied for the Bradford job and rumours that Peter Taylor is very interested in the position.

I was watching "Late Kick Off" he other night (on which, coincidentally, Peter Taylor was one of the guests) and they were discussing how many lower league managers were currently out of work. At least 40 from the looks of it!

PETER TAYLORS BRADFORD ARMY!!! Joins the club until the end of the season, at least news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bradford_city/8516521.stmCouldn't ask for a better manager available, hopefully Taylor will make a brilliant impression and City can launch a serious promotion campaign next season. Looking forward to the Accrington game on Saturday, possibility of the away following outnumbering the home support.

Not the dream start but who can expect miracles in two days in the job? Always liked Taylor since he did such a great job with the England's U-21's and expect him to do well for you in the longer term.

and Peter Taylor makes his first signing, Liverpool left back Robbie Thelfall on a one month loan. www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10266~1973461,00.html Absolutely delighted with the signing, theres been a lack of competition for left back and regular left back Luke O'Brien has been a liability.

Robbie Threlfall scores on his debut as Bradford beat League Two leaders Rochdale 3-1, he's already proving to be a big hit with the City fans who made the Rochdale trip.
Peter Taylor says he's to line up a few more loanees and a new coach in the forthcoming days. Junior Lewis has already joined the Bradford City coaching staff while Wayne Jacobs remains assistant.

Mark McCammon has joined from Gillingham on loan, Gavin Grant on a non contract and Adam Bolder has joined from Millwall on loan.
City look far more disciplined and organised under Taylor. Beat Darlington 1-0, sadly lost 1-0 to Aldershot but pulled off a sensational 2-1 win to Rotherham. Despite Adam Le Fondre equalising for Rotherham in the 92nd minute, James Hanson heads a 95th winner sending the 1087 away fans into raptures.
