Mansfield Town are allowing fans to name their price for their weekend game against Gateshead news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/mansfield_town/8492556.stm----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like a good idea in order to boost support and publicity. If 7,500 floating fans fill the ground and donated on average just £2.50, the club would rake £17,500 in gate money. Mansfield have about 2,500 season ticket holders, attendances suggest they attract around 500 floating supporters and bring in £6,000 in gate money per match (based on a 50:50 split between £16 adult tickets and £8 concession tickets) Back to the original question, if I was in the area and had nowt to do on a Saturday afternoon, I'd go the game and pay a fiver.

more paying less or less paying more
a fiver seems fair to me, if you pay less you will be more likely to go for extras etc etc

Maths not your strong point Henry? 7,500 x 2 = 15,000 when I went to school.
