Togo are banned for the next two Cup of nations due to their decision to pull out of this years tourniment as of a attack on the team bus which left 2 members of the staff dead and other seriously injured.
Now lets put this into perspective a football team had been banned from playing in the regions top tourniment because of a fatal attack on the team, which they pulled out of due to national mourning.
In the rules of Africa, nations will be punished if withdrawing from a competition at short notice unless its exceptional circumstances, but obviously loss of 2 lives and many injured ISNT exceptional.
So theoretically IF englands plane or bus in South Africa was attacked and players/staff lost lives, there is no doubt in my mind that a withdrawal will be taken out because who says it wouldnt happen again? So therefore England would be banned from the next two world cups due to withdrawing at short notice.
Now i cant start to understand how or why this decision was taken out but i hope when things are put into context an apology is made and the 50k fine is paid back because this is unjust to a nation in mourning and im sure European teams wouldnt be treated in the same way.

"In the rules of Africa, nations will be punished if withdrawing from a competition at short notice unless its exceptional circumstances" So getting shot at, losing fellow employees to a tragic death and feeling traumatised is NOT exceptional circumstances It doesn't end there, referee Bonaventure Koffi Codjia gets suspended indefinitely, because he didn't give a straight red to Algerian keeper Fawzi Chaouchi for a headbutt on him. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/8490140.stm

The Togo decision is just totally unbelievable. The rules allow for withdrawal through force majeure & if having two members of the coaching team killed & others injured doesn't count then what the hell would, This is just the most insensitive decision I've ever heard of!
