What would Darren do without his father?

Nothing like a bit of nepotism eh Stealth! This is a great move for Preston, Wellbeck and thus Man Utd in the long-term. I really rate Wellbeck so I will keep an eye on his progress but I've gone off Preston following their unnecessary sacking of Alan Irvine who I really like as a manager.

TBF Darren Ferguson has only loaned 3 players from Man Utd (Ben Amos, James Chester and now Danny Welbeck) in his managerial career.
Preston aren't the same team since captain Paul McKenna left for Forest. Although i'm a big admirer of goalkeeper Andy Lonergan (IMO he should be going to South Africa) I don't think goalkeepers should be made captain, leave it to someone whos heavily involved on and off the ball.

and Danny Welbeck scores on his debut with a superb lob! Having watched him from youth team level, he has an amazing future ahead of him. SAF should send Welbeck out on a full season loan to get some much needed 1st team experience.

He certainly looks a great prospect and that was a brilliant goal.
