Latics search for their first home win since February as away-day specialists Carlisle visit the Ice Station. The Blues broke the record for the longest time without a home win on that cold Friday night defeat to Hartlepool the other week, and should we fail to win, boss Dave Penney will have won just 1 in 10, breaking his own personal record for time without a win. Last season Latics and Carlisle fought out two tight, low scoring, games - a nil all thriller ( ) at Boundary Park and a one-one draw at Brunton Park. Neal Eardley, who left Latics for Blackpool at the start of the season, was on the score sheet that day and Latics may miss the Welshman as they look to overcome the injury crisis; wonder-winger Chris Taylor, and scorer Pawel Abbott will be forced to play through injuries, due to the injury crisis at the club, with Joe Jacobson, Rob Purdie, Deane Smalley, Lewis Alessandra and Andy Holdsworth all unlikely to feature. For Carlisle; winger Kevan Hurst has overcome his knee injury, but Richard Keogh will not be fit before United face Southampton, later in the month.
