I'm no fan of cookery programmes but this guy was a one off. Hadn't been on TV for a while but will, nevertheless, be sadly missed.

Hadn't heard of him at all until last night, when he was on TV and my Mum started raving about him. Then I find out today he's dead.

Not surprised as he hadn't been in the news for a long time. Very weird coincidence that there was a ptogramme about him last night & he's dead today. May be a blessing in disguise though as he had bowel cancer and, hopefully, ay least the heart attack was quick.

As I remember he used to like a taste as he was cooking.
Forerunner of this generation of TV chefs/cooks.

Always enjoyed watching the clips of him that were played on Saturday Kitchen whilst sitting down to my bacon sandwich of a morning.

As I remember he used to like a taste as he was cooking. Forerunner of this generation of TV chefs/cooks. Mainly of the wine that accompanied the meal! Definitely a pathfinder though & with a much more likeable personality than the vast majority of todays chefs.
