After the Millau Bridge, that is probably the most aesthetically pleasing design I have seen in a long time.

Shame I possibly won't live here then. In fact, most of my years in Sunderland have been spent watching the council balls every regeneration scheme up. The Vaux site has been sat there for absolutely ages, it will continue to do so for a while as Tesco tries to squeeze every penny out of it. They own it but can't get planning permission to build a supermarket on it. Now they can pretty much name their price because the council will have to stump up or get Gentoo (a housing company) to find private investment. This is a step in the right direction, though.

I'm not so keen on the Millenium Bridge, Stealth. My favourite bridge in Newcastle is the little Swing Bridge.

It's the combination of aesthetics & efficiency that I love about the Millenium Bridge Ben. Tower Bridge is great to look at but it costs approx. £1200 every time they open it. The Millenium Bridge costs just £3.45!
