news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7995665.stmBasically Carl Froch vs Jermain Taylor will not be screened in the UK... Pathetic excuses about the credit crunch and recession etc as ITV and Setanta were both in negotiations but a deal couldn't be reached. Britain's only world champion and a deal couldn't monkey'sing be reached!!!!!! And Amir Khan makes PPV!!! monkey'sing disgrace - i'm seriously weeed about this...

Moot point, but Khan is SKY not Setanta or ITV.
I'm actually surprised SKY didn't buy it to bung on SBO. Obviously buying figures weren't good enough for them to make a bid.

It should be on TV as it's a World Title fight involving a British Boxer, can you imagine a Yank fighting for a world title not being shown on any channel in USA? We have hundreds of channels as well as the option of making it a PPV but not one can take this fight?...
It doesn't matter whether Froch will lose this fight is much more high profile than the previous Khan fights and much more worthy of a TV spot. When Khan, Haye, Thaxton, Munroe all have TV fights i feel Britain's only Boxing World Champ probably deserves to make it on to either Sky (PPV or otherwise), Setanta, ITV or even BBC. Absolutely disgraceful imo.

It's certainly another nail in the coffin of boxing as a widespread spectator sport.

Iactually think Hatton has a title belt as well... with Froch he got a somewhat lucky decision against Jean Pascal who i think just edged it and apart from Pascal who has he ever fought?? if he seriously thinks his stronger than taylor somethings wrong with him but it could do him some good if he won but its a shame he wont if his so desperate to be on ITV or Setanta maybe he should lower his demands

No Hatton doesn't Andy. Well he has the 'Ring Magazine' title at Jr. Welterweight which imo is more prestigious than any of the "alphabet" titles and much more indicative of who is the best but technically Hatton doesn't have any of the official world titles. Given them up to chase his superfights.
I think Froch will beat Taylor who is getting on a bit and is living off past glories which on the whole he didn't deserve. I in fact believe he definitely lost the first Hopkins fight and the Wright fight and was lucky in the second B-Hop one as the decision could have gone either way. He's not that great, beating a washed-up Jeff Lacy (who you don't rate anyway i believe Andy) and losing twice to over-rated Kelly Pavlik.
But whether he wins or loses doesn't matter - it's a world title fight containing a Brit, so should be on British television. Khan makes PPV and we are forced to watch pooe like Danny Williams, Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton yet Froch can't make any channel... disgraceful.

Fair enough - ITV does make sense but Setanta not showing it or even SKy buying it does surprise/annoy me. I'll be gutted to miss it but no doubt be able to find free live streaming of it or at least a full replay the next day. But Hatton's and Haye's fights will also be awesome.

I think Froch's management have been guilty of chasing the American $ and asked for too much £GBP to show it (as others have said) at stupid O'Clock over here, and it will back fire on them in the long run imo

well i was sort of right he did KO him early on and did outclass him but the bit i didnt predict was that he would come back to win himself so fair play to him for that

At the end of the day a win's a win - Froch beats Taylor as i predicted, well played Carl, a well deserved, hard-fought win. Taylor didn't KO Froch early on, just knocked him down - quite a big difference there
