Not sure how we'll do in this one. We're missing so many first choice players & have called up 8 of the Under 18 side:- Oscar Jansson, Adam Smith, Calum Butcher, John Bostock, Dean Parrett, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Jon Obika. Wouldn't be too surprised if a couple of them even started the match and, apart from Calum Butcher who I know little about, I'm sure they wouldn't let us down. In fact, Deam Parrett could be an important factor as he's an all action midfielder with an eye for goal - but that, of course, has just put the curse on him!
Found out we're missing Robbie because, although the FA extended the transfer deadline to allow for the weather, EUFA didn't. Surprise, surprise.

Not easy conditions either Gerry - anywhere between -2 to - 8 C. TBH I'm not holding out a lot of hope for this one. Only advantage may be that, as Russia is in pre-season, I assume the Ukraine are too so they shouldn't be fully fit.

Not a good result Stealth, they score 1 and you need 4 to go through, this could be the end of the road this season for you guys

We were doing so well until yet another error from Gomes. Thought he'd turned the corner but obviously not. Still, at least one plus point. Parrett may not have done anything spectacular like he did for the England Under 17's but it was a difficult game to make your debut & he was good & solid not making any errors.
Unfortunately, I have to agree that's it though. Makes the Carling Cup Final really important - if we don't want to enter the Inter Toto lottery.

How important would you rate Europe Stealth, considering you have the endless wealth of the premiership?

You really can't beat the European nights at the Lane Gerry. The atmosphere is just something else under the lights and probably only Arsenal comes near it in the league. However, I think it's biggest importance is that it allows you to attract the better footballers because of that cachet of being in Europe. Although nowadays the money is obviously important, for the fans at least, it's irrelevant.

Knew you were going to say that Gerry! Have to admit they are legendary but it's never the same if your own team is not involved. Still wouldn't mind going to one ine day though.
