GILLINGHAM will use Aston Villa’s facilities this afternoon to help prepare for Tuesday night’s FA Cup second round replay against Stockport County. The winners of the tie will go through to play Martin O’Neill’s side and will bag £160,000 in TV revenue for the tie in January. Gills will stay in the midlands on Monday night before a light training session at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath before making the trip to Stockport. Gills won a bruising encounter with Chesterfield 2-1 at Priestfield on Saturday. Barry Fuller, Mark Bentley and Curtis Weston all picked up knocks, but manager Mark Stimson admits he would be surprised if any of them missed out. He said: “I can’t see anyone saying they’re not fit to play because it’s a big game now – we are a game away from one the players will remember for the rest of their lives. “All we can ask is for them to go out and play like they have been doing recently. Stockport were beaten at home on Saturday so they can be beaten. We have to go there, be professional and not give anything away and if we get a chance finish it. “All I will ask of the players is to give everything they’ve got because if you do get through what a great New Year that would be to look forward to.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shows who Villa are favoring!!!

Made an appearance at Edgeley Park and it was a cracking game, Gillingham probably edged in terms of counter attacking football and getting good chances on goal but Stockport could've easily took it to extra time at least. Made me feel slightly better after City threw away a 2 goal lead against 10 men Gillingham in October.

I would go as far as saying that is probs the worst I have seen us play under Jim Gannon.

If that is the worse then Stockport have a good chance of making the playoffs, seen a lot worse from teams in League One and end up punching above their weight. The way Stockport disposed of then high flying Oldham on that Friday night is just genius. On Bet365, Stockport are 16/1 to get promoted even though are 8th in the League and 4pts behind the playoffs. That is a bet worth making.

Discovered that this is a huge pricing error by Bet365
Huddersfield are 11/1 despite in mid-table, Southend 11/1 and are 11th place, Tranmere are 14/1 but one place lower than Stockport.

Yeah the odds on County would be a good bet, but I can't see us going up tbh, not if we play like we did yesterday. lets be honest, we got hammered for the first 45, we got lucky with Glee's goal also. We stepped it up a little in the second half towards the last 15-20 min but it wasn't enough. Gannon was stupid with some of his tactics, I mean, why was Taylor in the side over Dom B and why the hell did he shove our Defensive Midfielder Raynes up front as McNeil got injured in the warm up when we had 3 players who are attack minded on the bench? one of which being Thompson who is a forward which we paid good money for!!.
