Don't know if anyone else watched it but a very interesting match. Comprehensive proof that Russian football is on the rise and by playing some extremely attractive football (but then what would you expect with a Dutchman in charge). They really do have some excellent players though - Tymoschuk was outstanding but there are at least 4 or 5 other way above average players.
Commentators used the excuse that Zenit were well in to their season whereas Man U just started but when Zenit put 4 past Borussia & Bayern they were right at the beginning of their season. Didn't stop them being bright & quick to react.
By the way, does anybody else think Scholes is possibly the worst tackler of all time?

I wasn’t hearing many complaints by Man Utd fans when they won the Community Shield. Years ago this match was played in the middle of the season........

Scholes has always been an appalling tackler, it's the one thing he can't do and never will.
I'd still have him in my team though.

We were beaten fair and square last night and I'm not having any of that crap about Zenit being well into their season and United only just starting theirs.

Agree with Otto Red. Nice to see an honest appraisal instead of the usual Man U fans blindness so have a goal from me as well.
It's good news you aren't in their group in the Champions League as I think they'll be serious challengers this year with or without Arshavin.

Totally agree Arover as his other attributes outweigh that but it used to seriously bug me when commentators used to call him the best midfielder in the world especially when he was playing at the same time as Zidane. I also don't see how you can be when you tackle like that & miss a hell of a lot of games through suspension - and that's apart from the ginger mist!
