news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7553875.stmThe Association of Chief Police Officers has said that football clubs should pay the full costs of policing their matches as they are a profit making event. This opens up a bigger can of worms as how about the policing costs for events such as Glastonbury or The Proms? What's your opinion?

No opinions? Surprising, as this could affect fans in a big way.

I dunno, police may argue it's not for them to pay but they'll be the first to come under fire when 250 fans are killed in the Leeds branch of Wetherspoons

The simple fact is that nearly all services in this country are under increasing pressure from over use & lack of funds. As the taxpayer is the main source of funding & now we are all suffering from a likely recession, as well as the highest taxes of all time, isn't it about time that money making enterprises whose means of profit cause problems for the general public, should pay their own way? It's the cheap booze in clubs & pubs that causes Friday & Saturday nights mayhem on the streets & in Accident & Emergency wards around the country so why shouldn't they contribute some of their profit to the cost of clearing up behind them?
