HUELVA, January 26 (Primera Liga) - Getafe coach Michael Laudrup acknowledges his team will have to play much better than they did in their first Primera Liga encounter with Recreativo Huelva if they are to get anything from Sunday's trip south.
Back at the beginning of September, Getafe scrambled a last-minute equaliser to draw 1-1 in the Coliseum as they made a hash of their opening home game of the campaign.
``Perhaps of all the games we have played this season that one against Recreativo is the one where we did not deserve the points we got,'' said former Denmark international Laudrup.
``We played a very poor first half and scored an equaliser through Manu del Moral in the 92nd minute. We deserved to lose that day.''
Although Getafe have improved beyond comparison since the early months of the season when they were rooted near the foot of the table, their recent inconsistency has seen them slip into the pack of teams scrambling for points in the lower reaches.
They lie 12th in the standings but are only two points above 18th-placed Real Murcia. Recre are only kept above Murcia in 17th by their superior goal difference.
``Recreativo are a team who are well organised on the pitch, and they have a good striker in the form of Florent Sinama Pongolle,'' Laudrup added.
``I have also heard they have just recruited Argentinian striker Marco Ruben on loan from Villarreal.''
After a morale-boosting 3-2 win over Sevilla last weekend and a 1-0 win over Real Mallorca in the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final on Wednesday, Getafe are in good spirits and need to build momentum.
``After these two victories it is important for us to win on Sunday. We have played two good games in different competitions and now we are playing a direct rival in their stadium. We need to earn points,'' Laudrup said.
Midfielder Ruben de la Red has recovered from a muscle strain and will be available but midfielders Francisco Sousa and Miguel Pallardo are definitely out. Fabio Celestini is a doubt.
Victor Munoz's Recreativo have drawn four of their last five and not won since the beginning of December.
One of their biggest problems has been scoring goals - they are the league's second lowest scorers with 16 from 20 games - so the arrival of promising Argentinian striker Ruben on loan should be a much-needed boost.
The highly-rated Under-21 international - signed by Villarreal from River Plate during the week and sent to Recre on loan until the end of the season - could go straight into the squad to face Getafe.
Turkish striker Ersen Martin, who was acquired during the summer, is also close to making his first appearance after a drawn-out transfer saga and surgery.
Munoz also has goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino and defender Pampa Calvo back from muscle injuries.
