I don't normally read much normally, only newspapers and small things like that, but at the minute i'm reading Bruce Reynolds' autobiography (the great train robber) and am really suprised by how much i like it. I'm about half way through it and so far havnt been able to put it down. It's very interesting and in some places quite inspiring. I should proberly get out more

At the minute i'm reading stuff about Enzyme/Substrate reactions, specifically Catalase/Hydrogen Peroxide. For my Biology coursework.
Also have to read Pride + Prejudice for Literature, it's absolutely poo. But we did also watch a film adaptation with Keira Knightley in so it has it's upsides.

Ben, i think Jane Eyre and Pride + Prejudice are of the same, excruciatingly dull mould!!
I'm also reading about the Italian Unification and examing the nuances of Stalin's Russia especially his plans for collectivisation and rapid industrialisation.

Seems that when you are young you think classics like Jane Eyre and Pride and Predjudice are a load of bollocks.I dropped English Lit O level very sharpish too.As you get older you seem to apprieciate them more.I have read several books by Dickens and the Brontes, but when I was 16 there was no chance.... Incidentally Ben....just worked out why you put Keira Knightley as the most beautiful woman on the planet in your thread....Holmes must be brushing off on me... I wager there was a few of you guys sitting there with their mouth open watching the film...?Like Homer Simpson thinking about a duff beer...

Don't get me wrong Otto, Bronte's writing style and general prose is absolutely majestic and i fully appreciate that. However, the content and constant description of every little detail is just not up my boulevard.

No we watched the poo bbc version in school, this one was for my own private viewing. But otherwise you deduced well Mr Holmes. I love literature just not that kind. I'm looking forward to the next section we get to though. Henry the fifth by 'The Bard' himself.

Is that when he forced peasants to farm and give all of their grain to the government. We did that at GCSE, i've forgotten it all now however.

Well i haven't yet covered it in any detail, i studie Macbeth for my Sats but thats hardly an in depth analysis. Mind you i'm generally good when it comes to plays, i remember getting an A* in both pieces of coursework on Arthur Miller's 'A View From The Bridge' One of them was acting though, the other was a written essay.
