This is how they stand at the moment, note the interlopers Sivaspor sneaking in there splitting up the big 3 from Istanbul.

'We will be like Chelsea, AC Milan or Real Madrid within 10 years. This is inevitable.'
Those are the words of Fenerbahçe's ambitious president Aziz Yilidrim, who got slightly over excited after presiding over the Turkish champions' first foray into the knockout stages of the Champions League after five attempts.
Possibly delirious after breaking the Turkish record for points accrued in the group phase of Europe's premier competition, beating arch-rivals Galatasaray's total of ten points by a single digit, Yilidrim was happy to tell anybody who would listen that Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü have arrived.
'The next 10 years will be for Fenerbahçe, everyone should accept that,' he said. 'We have not yet reached our full potential, but Fenerbahçe has taken the first step on the way to further growth.'
Yilidrim's bullish statement preceded the Yellow Canaries' 3-2 home win against FC Sevilla in the first leg of their last 16 clash and we can only imagine how he will ratchet up the rhetoric if they manage to maintain their advantage and squeeze into the quarter-finals.
And while Yilidrim's claims that the club can be elevated to the level of the former G14 cartel within a decade might be a bit fanciful there is no doubt that dramatic change has taken place at Fenerbahçe since he succeeded ex-chairman Ali Sen in 1998.
The former construction tycoon has increased the capacity of the Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium to 52,500, sold 16% of the club's shares and trademarked Fenerbahçe. But despite increasing his organisation's revenue he is a long way off matching his idolised trio in the top five of football's rich list.
Fenerbahçe are also a long way from being a credible alternative to Europe's established clubs for the world's best players but the Turkish club have certainly attracted some top talent to boost their profile around the globe; including Chelsea's newest recruit, £15million striker Nicolas Anelka.
The French international, who has cost more in cumulative transfer fees than any player in history at £84.8 million, joined the club for £7million in 2005 as part of Fenerbahçe's budget version of the galatico era that also saw Argentina international Ariel Ortega, Ukrainian striker Serhiy Rebrov and Dutch striker Pierre van Hooijdonk pass through the club.
In Zico the club now has a coach with enough gravitas to attract further household names and in the summer the former Brazil international was instrumental in attracting compatriot and World Cup winner Roberto Carlos to the club.
The former Real Madrid left-back joined Alex de Souza, another Brazilian, who has won 48 caps for his country, Dutch Eredivisie golden boot winner Mateja Kezman and highly-rated Ghana midfielder Stephen Appiah in the clubs increasing pool of recognizable talent.
If Fenerbahçe can squeeze past Sevilla into the quarter-finals of the Champions League the club may well embark on a glorious decade as Yilidrim predicts but the Yellow Canaries will never fly as high as Europe's established clubs because history is against them.
It is the same reason that Chelsea, despite their riches and success, will never be in the same bracket as Juventus, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and their peers; clubs simply can't buy a glorious European past, even in these days of billionaire oligarchs.
History puts two of Yildirim's triple targets in AC Milan and Real Madrid out of reach but if he can mastermind Fenerbahçe's continued rise for the next ten years the Turkish club can aspire to become one of Europe's new powers - not unlike his third target Chelsea.

Sivasspor still up there then! Is it my imagination or did Blackburn play Genclerbirligi a few years ago in the UEFA cup. Certainly tight at the top - guess the title race will go down to the wire.

Yes we did play them and lost as well. So that's Larissa, Trelleborgs and that lot who've all knocked us out of Europe.

According to LigTv, newly elected Galatasaray president will be asking both Marcelo Lippi and Didier Deschamps to come and work for Galatasaray next season.
Its no secret that the feeble old fool in charge now will probably be sent packing at the end of the season, but speculation is rife as to who will take over. Apparently Adnan Polat wants to bring a certain Marcelo Lippi to the helm.
Apparently Galatasaray and Lippi have agreed on a meeting date and Lippi has supposedly stated that Turkey would be a fresh new challange for him (where have we heard that before?) and that hes very excited about the prospect of managing a European power such as Galatasaray.
Bullpoo.
Mark my words, Lippi will never come to Galatasaray. He might not even go to any club, but certainly he wont come to Galatasaray. Theres a chance that he might think about being the new Derwall and try to radically improve the Turkish game as Derwall did. But I doubt it.
Galatasaray’s plan B is Didier Deschamps apparently. This I’ll give a 15% chance. Maybe 15.3%. 15.32%
And finally comes Plan C, the most likely candidate in my opinion. Bringing in Miracle Worker Abdullah Avci from Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesspor. Avci has turned I.B.Bspor from a second league team with funds from the government to a very respectable midtable team which has, up to now defeated Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Trabzonspor and has managed a tie away at Fenerbahce (The scum managed a 90th minute goal), and away at Galatasaray (2-0 down then 2-2, great come back from the CimBom)
Avci’s current assistant is Arif Erdem, a Galatasaray legend, and these two make a lethal duo. The downfall of Feldkamp and Gerets before him was the fact that they played around with the team, they broke down morale and allowed the team to miss out on great oppurtunities to win the league. Feldkamp’s still try to win this year, and he might actually pull it off but only with the help of the team’s real head, Hakan Sukur. Avci would never play around with the team and Arif would actually boost morale.

Former Bayer Leverkusen coach Michael Skibbe has signed a one-year contract as coach of Turkey champions Galatasaray.
The 42-year-old replaces Karl-Heinz Feldkamp, who resigned in April due to health concerns, finding a new job less than a month after being sacked by Leverkusen, who he could only lead to seventh in the Bundesliga last season.
'We have reached an agreement after 10 days of negotiations,' confirmed Skibbe.
'I am really happy to be able to improve myself at a renowned club.
'I know the players from Galatasaray quite well through the UEFA Cup and have a clear idea of the potential in this side.'
Skibbe coached Leverkusen for three years before being dismissed last month.
He led them to the UEFA Cup twice and seemed on course for Champions League qualification until a late dip in form at the end of the season saw them drop three places on the final day to miss out on a place in Europe.
He will now get a chance at the Champions League with Galatasaray.

Former Spain coach Luis Aragones has vowed to 'do everything possible' to bring glory to Fenerbahce, hours before he officially takes over at the Turkish club.
Aragones has long been linked with the job and had to deny anything had been formalised when Fenerbahce announced his appointment during Euro 2008.
But, with the tournament over and having led Spain to their first major trophy in 44 years, Aragones has confirmed the deal and is expected to sign a two-year contract on Friday afternoon.
'The move to Fenerbahce will be beneficial to both parties and will bring titles,' Aragones told reporters as he arrived in Istanbul on Thursday night.
'I don't promise anything, only hard work and to do everything possible to obtain success.
'It is a great club, as it showed in the Champions League last year and I know that it has a very passionate support who deserve someone who can give them satisfaction.'
Aragones is looking forward to a new challenge and a return to club football after four years on the Spain bench.
Fenerbahce reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season before losing to eventual runners-up Chelsea.
The 69-year-old, who has never worked outside Spain during a 34-year coaching career, is eager to take them further this campaign.
'A very important period in my life has started for me,' added Aragones. 'We will work to be champions on every pitch.
'It's natural that expectations are very high in a club like Fenerbahce.
'Our first task is to pass the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. Then we will try to reach the best position we can in the Champions League.'
Aragones is expected to be officially unveiled on Friday afternoon and will travel with his new squad to Austria - the scene of his recent triumph - on Sunday for a pre-season training camp.
