Oh Tim! That's such bad news as it really looks dire now with two prospective buyers pulling out in two hours. One of the remaining two may go ahead but each week racks up outstanding wages etc. and the Football Leagues intransigence over the 10 points hasn't helped. It also looks, reading between the lines, that they have put other obstacles in the way as well?

I hope one of the prospective buyers comes up trumps for you Tim but the longer it goes on the harder it's going to be to get the team, manager etc. settled in time for the season. Ironic that you're in the same position as your sworn enemies down the road!

I think he means the name Liebherr. In German Lieb means love and Herr means Mr - thus 'love Mr.' It was very weak to be fair - not up to your normal standards Stealth!

It wasn't really meant to be a pun or anything Luke it just struck me as strange translation when you consider most names origins are from places or occupations.
You should know by now my puns are usually so excruciating they stand out a mile!

Kelvin Davis snubs West Ham for new Southampton deal
Markus Liebherr’s bright new era at Saints has got off to the best possible start – by tying captain Kelvin Davis down to a new three year contract.
The Daily Echo can exclusively reveal that Davis has rejected a move to Premier League side West Ham in favour of extending his stay at St Mary’s.
Liebherr’s team wasted no time after their acquisition of the club in ensuring the reigning player of the season and crowd hero put pen to paper on a three year contract with his previous deal having expired at the end of June.
The signature laid down a marker of what is to come in Liebherr’s control of Saints.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Daily Echo, Nicola Cortese, the man responsible for selling Saints to Liebherr and then conducting the deal said: "He (Liebherr) is completely into it already, he is already looking forward to July 18 and the Ajax match when he will come and fly his friends in and take them round the stadium to show his new company to them.
"He is a very passionate person and if you can attract his passion about something he is 100 per cent passionate."

Pardew hails Saints as Premiership club in waiting
lan Pardew says he took the job as Saints’ new manager because he believes it is a Premiership club.
Pardew got a standing ovation from the St Mary’s crowd as he was presented to them before the pre-season friendly against Ajax, which culminated in a 4-1 defeat.
After the match Pardew introduced himself to the players for the first time before starting work on Monday.
Pardew was tempted to the club by representatives of new owner Markus Lieberhr, who was himself introduced to the St Mary’s faithful before the game, and is now preparing for work.
He said: “I had to listen to what they had to say.
“The infrastructure of this club I know is Premiership, the fans are Premiership quality as they showed on Saturday and there’s just one problem and that’s the team.
“The results of last year have obviously effected some confidence levels and the team is what I can correct.
“Everything in the infrastructure is there, we just need to get the team right.
“Obviously we are starting with minus ten which is a real handicap but we are going to do our utmost to overcome that as quickly as we can and if we can overcome that as quickly as we can then we’ll see what we can do.”

Southampton land striker Rickie Lambert from Bristol Rovers
AINTS have signed Rickie Lambert on a three-year deal from Bristol Rovers.
The 27-year-old striker underwent a medical at Saints this morning and has joined for a fee in excess of £1m.
Lambert finished as joint top scorer in League One last season, with 29 goals. He also scored a late winner when Saints met Bristol Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the Memorial Stadium in the 2007/08 season.
Lambert, who could make his debut in tomorrow night's Carling Cup match against Northampton, said: “I am really grateful to everyone at both clubs for making this deal possible.
"The owner and chairman here have great plans for the club, and I am really looking forward to working with Alan Pardew.”
"The future's bright if you're red and white...but not so great if you're a dirty skate !"

Southampton are now 'competitve' says Alan Pardew
SAINTS boss Alan Pardew believes he now has a competitive team, following the signing of striker Rickie Lambert.
The 27-year-old’s move from Bristol Rovers, where he scored 29 times in League One last season, has given Saints the proven marksman they craved.
Pardew was understandably delighted to have secured Lambert’s services.
“I would suggest his next move was probably to the Championship and we’ve stopped that,” he said.
“His motivation for us is to get us out of the division.
“I think he’s a good age and he knows his job.
“Sometimes strikers and centre halves they get to an age where they understand what they’re good at and they stop doing things that they can’t do.
“I think Rickie’s there.
“He knows what he does well and now we just need to put the ball in the right place for him and he will score – he’s proven that.”
Pardew added: “He’s a really good honest boy.
“You’ll see that he’s not just a goalscorer – he’s a team player and, as I say, Southampton fans will enjoy that.”
Pardew said Lambert’s move means they now possess some real firepower in attack that can help push them up the league.
He said the side could now be competitive in League One and he expects to add further new faces soon.
“I don’t know about the top of the table just yet, we’ve got a lot of deficit to make up, but we’re certainly going to be competitive with the squad that we’ve got now,” he said.
“I’m going to add a couple more names to it if I can and quickly, because there’s no time like the present.”
Pardew also described Lambert’s signing, for a fee that could rise to as much as £1.5m with add-ons, as a real statement of intent from the club’s new owners.
“The owners have stressed their intent to make this a successful team and probably that’s the first time they have shown their hand,”
he said.
Pardew said he is also hoping to secure the services of a new centre back soon and added a deal for Radhi Jaidi wasn’t completely dead yet.
“I think that situation is probably against us, but I haven’t completely dismissed it,” he said.
“I look at this side and I’ve made it clear a centre half is part of that brief and we will get one in.
“Whether it’s the big fella I’m not sure.
“But we’re making tracks and Southampton fans can be buoyed by the news of yesterday and look forward to tonight’s game.
“Perhaps they might not have come tomorrow, but I hope they come to see the man [Lambert] make his debut and I’m sure he’ll want to make his mark.”

Lambert aiming to be a magnificent seven for Saints
NEW signing Rickie Lambert said he was honoured to receive the storied number seven shirt at Saints.
The 27-year-old yesterday completed his move to St Mary’s from Bristol Rovers, for a fee that could rise to as much as £1.5m.
Lambert, who was joint top scorer in League One last season, with an incredible 29 goals, penned a three-year deal at Saints.
He was immediately handed the most famous shirt at the club, but Lambert said he would not put any pressure on himself because he was following in the footsteps of players like Matt Le Tissier.
“What can I say, there’s only one Matt Le Tissier and I’m not going to try and emulate him,” said the 6ft 3in striker, who is expected to make his debut in tonight’s Carling Cup match at home to Northampton.
“I’m just going to try and be as good as I can be and hopefully that’s good enough.”
He added: “Of course I’m honoured, it’s a great number and obviously it has a lot of history, not only in this club but around the world.
“The best players normally wear seven or ten, so it is a kind of pressure on you, but it doesn’t really bother me.”
Lambert, who scored in Bristol Rovers’ 2-1 defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday, first heard of Saints’ interest last Thursday.
Although he had offers from other League One sides, Lambert said there was no way he could turn down a move to St Mary’s.
“As soon as Southampton came in they made it clear they wanted it to happen as fast as possible.
“It was a bit of a shock, but I obviously wanted the move and the faster the better.
“I’ve been told only good stuff about Southampton, the facilities, the ground and obviously the manager, so it was not hard at all, the decision I made.
“As soon as I heard Southampton came in for me I was very excited and made sure that it happened.”
Expectations are high following Lambert’s sensational return of goals last season.
The Liverpool-born star said he would not put too much pressure on himself.
However, he revealed he is confident of repeating those numbers at Saints this season.
“I’m fully confident in my own ability that I can do that,” he said.
“I want to gel in as fast as I can into a new team with new players and let them understand how I play and vice versa.
“But I’m fully confident that I can score a lot of goals again this season.
“Obviously, there’s going to be expectations, I know that.
“All I’ve got to do is concentrate on my own game and I know if I’m playing well the goals will come, so I just can’t wait to play my first game.”

Saints snap up Chelsea midfielder
Southampton have signed Chelsea midfielder Jacob Mellis on loan.
The two clubs have agreed a deal which will see the 18-year-old stay with Saints until 2 January.
Mellis, an England Under-19 international, will go straight into the squad for Saints' League One trip to Huddersfield on Saturday.
He is Alan Pardew's fourth signing since taking over, following the arrivals of Dan Harding, Graeme Murty and Rickie Lambert.
Meanwhile, Saints keeper Tommy Forecast, 22, has joined Grimsby on a month's loan.

Colchester captain Dean Hammon signs for Southampton
SAINTS have signed midfielder Dean Hammond, for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal at St Mary's.
Hammond, who describes himself as an 'all-action midfielder', said: "This is a massive club with a Premiership set up and it represented an opportunity that I couldn't turn down, so I'm just very excited about the move," the 26 year-old said.
"The Club has got a massive ambition to get back to the top. We're in League One at the moment so obviously promotion is the aim, and I want to be a part of that.
"I've worked with Dean [Wilkins] before at Brighton when he was manager and I enjoyed it. I don't know if he was a factor in bringing me here, but I'm looking forward to working with him again. I've known him for a few years and when I worked with him before he improved me as a player so I think he will do that again.
"I also did my YTS at Brighton with Dan Harding, so I've known him for a few years and it will be nice to see him again.
"Alan Pardew is a top manger too," Hammond added. "He is a Premiership manager who has done it all before. I know a lot about him and I look forward to working with him."
"I like to get involved in the game and cover as many aspects of being a midfielder as I can. I like to get on the ball, I'm quite aggressive and I can score a goal or two, so I enjoy everything about playing there.
"I know that there are a lot of talented young players at Southampton and some experienced ones too. I've played for a couple of years in League One now and I've been in the Championship too so I know what the level is all about so I hope I can bring a bit more to the side.
"It's still the early stage of the season, obviously Colchester started well with a 7-1 win over Norwich and then got another win last weekend as well, but Southampton is a massive club and it's one which isn't renowned for being in League One. The infrastructure of the club shows that it shouldn't be at this level so it was an opportunity that I couldn't turn down.
"If you can get into a rhythm then you never know what can happen in this league. Leeds came close when they were deducted points, so you take each game at a time, but you've got to be ambitious too.
"I'm looking forward to starting my career at Southampton, and I hope that I provide some competition for places by doing my best for the club."
Alan Pardew added: ""Dean is a fantastic leader and tremendously energetic. He captained Colchester and will bring a lot of quality to the club that I think the fans will appreciate."

Neal Trotman joins Southampton on loan from Preston North End
SAINTS have signed Preston centre back Neal Trotman on-loan for the rest of the year.
The 22 year-old has joined Saints until January 3.
Preston boss Alan Irvine is keen for the six foot two inch defender to get some first-team experience under his belt, after missing most of last season with a hernia problem.
Trotman has made one appearance for Preston this season, coming on as a second half sub in their 5-1 Carling Cup win over Morecambe and scoring within 10 seconds.
After completing his short-term move to St Mary’s, Trotman said: “I didn’t think the move would be this quick.
“I need games and to come to a club like Southampton I couldn’t say no.”

Play-offs still possible - Pardew
Southampton boss Alan Pardew thinks his side can still push for the League One play-offs this season, despite being bottom of the table after eight games.
Saints remain on minus two points after they started the season with a 10-point penalty, which was imposed on them for entering administration.
But, speaking at the BBC Radio Solent fans forum, Pardew insisted: "I would say it is going to be tough.
"But am I not saying it is impossible, I would never say that."
Saints only recorded their first win in League One on Saturday when they beat Yeovil 2-0.
Meanhwile, Pardew has also revealed that he would have no objection in principle to the appointment of a director of football at St Mary's.
"Somewhere down the road a director of football here wouldn't be a bad thing because you do need to continue a vision for a club that goes past managers," he said.
"Managers will come and want to change the vision of the club and if you want a constant vision then sometimes I can see the logic of a director of football."

What are you making of Pards so far Tim? Hello Luke Its hard for me to really judge if I'm honest,as I'm not able to make it to games. But from what I'm am hearing & reading he seems to be doing an OK job considering the mess we were in not so long ago.We are not really losing games which is good, but we need to start turning those draws in to wins. I'm coming back to England for a visit very soon so i will go to as many games as possible & take a look for myself.

Southampton sign striker Connolly
Southampton have signed Republic of Ireland international striker David Connolly on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old, who left Sunderland in the summer following a succession of groin problems, has agreed a deal at St Mary's until the end of the season.
Connolly has signed in time to figure in Friday's trip to Southend.
Manager Alan Pardew said: "If he comes back from this injury lay-off, like I think he will, then we're going to find ourselves with an exciting player."
He added: "David is keen to show that he is ready to kick back in.
"I believe in him and my staff all feel that we could get one of the bargains of the season - but only if David comes back to what he has achieved and what he could do before, because he is a Premiership player when he is at his best.
"He's not played football at this level for about 18 months through injury, and one in particular, but he has been training undercover with us for about three weeks and he looks in good shape."
Connolly, who has won 41 international caps, scoring nine goals, began his career with Watford, with his performances earning a move to Dutch side Feyenoord - one of the first high-profile Bosman moves.
He returned to England for a loan spell with Wolves before joining Wimbledon, where his 42 goals in 63 league starts earned him a move to West Ham, where he played under Pardew.
Connolly has since had spells with Leicester and Wigan before enduring an injury-ravaged time with the Black Cats.
