William Gallas has been dropped and stripped of the Arsenal captaincy
Footballers are selfish aren't they? I feel bad for Wenger. He is the one with the dilemma. If he keeps Gallas as captain, it would appear he endorses Gallas's comments. If he doesn't it is an indication Gallas is on his way out. In my opinion, for now he should be off the team. But stripping the Captaincy for now is premature and extreme. Gallas wants to win, but he is being selfish and immature with his approach to conflicts within the team. It is something that would be miraculous if it ever gets fixed, and a further wrong move by Gallas will conclude the end for him as a Gunner for sure.

Given his penchant for creating controversy it's a) amazing he was ever made captain and b) that he's still at Arsenal at all.

Bissy you're not seriously saying they've done the wrong thing are you?
Going to the press slagging off your teammates just doesn't happen. Least of all as captain.

You just don't go slagging your team mates off to the press, especially when you're suffering in the league.
It's the last thing Arsenal need at the moment.

I can't believe it took Mr. Wenger this long to do it. He should have stripped Gallas of the Captaincy the moment that infamous Birmingham game finished. Seeing a seasoned pro and captain of Arsenal acting like a 4 year old on the pitch was embarassing to watch to say the least.
However, this also poses the question, who would replace him as captain, because Arsenal are made up of a team of individuals and there is no real leader at all. No wonder it's all gone a bit pear shaped down at the Emirates.

Its a good move to strip Gallas of the armband and like Fez said, I don't why it took him so long to do it!.
Gallas is not a leader, not in a million years, I mean he acts like a baby, spitting his dummy out over the littlest of things.
A real man and a real leader would deal with these situations head on in a responsible and adult like manner, he hardly sets a good example to younger members of the squad.
