Kevin Kyle has had his loan at Hartlepool United extended until Sunday December 28th.
The Scot has been told that he has no place at Coventry City and is allowed to talk to clubs from January 1st as his contract expires next summer.
Apart from being on the pre-season tours of Austria, Switzerland and Scotland, Kyle has not featured for City's first team since he was sent off against Burnley last season.
He has however, been scoring for City Reserves and three times for Hartlepool in his loan spell.

Coventry City have announced that they have opened a new club shop in Asda at Walsgrave.
CCFC Commercial Director Nathan Kosky told the club website: "We are always looking at ways to make our services as accessible as possible to everyone and this is a great way of giving supporters the chance to buy Coventry City merchandise while they are doing their weekly shopping.
"The Walsgrave branch of Asda is always busy and with Christmas rapidly approaching, it will save our supporters time being able to buy their Sky Blues presents at the same time as visiting the store.
"Asda staff will be manning the unit and we will make sure it is fully stocked as well as introducing different products - in fact some of the items will be exclusive to the store.
"We are always looking at different avenues to sell our vast range of club stock and hopefully we will be able to expand this to other Asda stores in Coventry and Warwickshire.
"This should raise the profile of the club and the supermarket in the east of the city."

Good idea that - but a bit down market. Should have been in Waitrose or M & S!

but yes the last couple of games he has started from the bench but when he has come on he has changed the game. Coleman sees something in Best that no-one else does so he somehow gets a place instead of freddy. But like alot of the posters said Coleman reckons Freddy will come good in time and from what ive seen of Freddy i agree with that comment.

Michael Mifsud could earn a move from Coventry with a good performance for Malta on Wednesday, according to manager Chris Coleman.
The 27-year-old has failed to generate much interest since asking to leave the Ricoh Arena but could put himself in the shop window when his country take on Iceland in an international friendly.
The former Bristol City target missed Saturday's match against Plymouth but is likely to come up against team-mate Aron Gunnarsson when the two nations meet.
"Michael suffered a badly bruised foot in training last Thursday and the game on Saturday was too early for him, but the extra few days has helped him and he should be OK for Wednesday," Coleman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"And in Michael's case as well, he has stressed that he wants to leave the club so we think if he is playing for his country it is good exposure for him, and gives us a better chance of doing something in the window."

Coventry winger Julian Gray would like to make his loan move to Fulham a permanent arrangement.
"Yeah definitely," he told the club's official website, when asked if he would like a permanent stay.
"Hopefully my loan deal will be made permanent in the summer.
"We'll see what the future brings but ideally I would like to be a Fulham player next season, because as I've said I'm enjoying my time here.
"On a personal level I would like to get myself in the team, and if that happens make sure that I'm consistent."

"Coventry City midfielder Guilluame Beuzelin has a chance to prove himself when he replaces the suspended Aron Gunnarssson at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The midfielder, who joined City from Hibs currently has flu but is expected to shake off this and be fit to play.
"He has got a bit of craft, which is what we have been missing, and he sees a pass that most of our players don't," said City manager Chris Coleman to the CT.
"When he is on top of his game he basically sits in the centre of the park and gets his passes off, and that's what we are looking for, that type of performance that we saw against Birmingham.
"In fairness to Boozy, he felt ill against Crystal Palace but only flagged up after the game. And then he was ill all last week and again on Saturday, so he has been carrying a bug.
"But hopefully with a bit more rest he will be ready to go again on Saturday.
"The fitness levels in this league are high. People say the Scottish Premier League is fast but the Championship is very, very fast and physical and in some games he has found it difficult, so he knows he has got to improve on his fitness.
"But when he is playing well like he did against Birmingham he is a good player, so he needs to be on top of his game

Two Coventry City players reached milestones against Plymouth Argyle last Saturday.
Michael Doyle made his 250th appearance for the Sky Blues and said: "I didn't know it was my 250th game for Coventry but it is a nice little stat on a disappointing day."
Doyle joined from Celtic Reserves on loan in March 2003 and after playing for the reserves, did enough to earn a contract at the end of the 2002/03 season.
Hs tough tackling went down well with City supporters, especially those who saw him on pre-season tours in Germany. Doyler scored five goals in his first season and has taken this tally to eighteen by the end of last season.
Centre half Elliott Ward passed the hundred appearance mark also against Plymouth. Ward came through the Hammers Academy but struggled to sustain a place in West Ham's first team and was loaned out.
Plymouth, for whom Ward had played well whilst on loan, were interested but City were quick to react and and he was allowed to move to the Ricoh Arena for £1m after making nineteen league and cup appearances
Ward, settled in quickly at Coventry. In his first season, he was made Captain, taking over from Robert Page. Although, Ward subsequently lost that title, he remains in the heart of City's defence and is the team's main penalty taker.

Out-of-favour Coventry midfielder Chris Birchall is a loan target for former club Port Vale.
The Trinidad and Tobago international, who played 78 minutes of his country's 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Cuba in Port of Spain on Wednesday night, has yet to make a first-team appearance for Coventry this season.
And Vale chairman Bill Bratt revealed to the Sentinel that the League Two club are weighing up an approach, saying: "He is a wide midfield player which we need. We are looking at everybody and Chris is in our remit, so when he comes back from playing for Trinidad and Tobago we will probably follow it up."
Staffordshire-born Birchall came through the youth system at Port Vale and made over 50 league appearances for the club before his £325,000 move to Coventry in August 2006.

Coventry City defender Stephen Wright is touch and go to make City's team to face Nottingham Forest at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
The right back took a knock to his knee against Swansea but could possibly return to an injury ravaged Sky Blues side.
But even with Isaac Osbourne out with an ankle injury, suffered just minutes after he replaced Wright against Swansea, Wright is still not a definite to start against Nottingham Forest this weekend as he says his current condition is touch and go as to whether he will be involved at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
"It has been like a nightmare these last few months because you just want to play football. And to finally get out there and then have to come back out again was horrible," said Wright to Sky Blue World.
"I will wait and see what condition I'm in tomorrow (Friday) and that will give me a clearer idea as to whether or not I can play but I obviously hope I can.
"We all want to do well for the club and for the fans and the best way to do that is to pick up points.
"Nottingham Forest are down at the wrong end of the table but there is no way we will be taking them lightly. There will be no chance of that at all because we all know what they are capable of producing."

Coventry City will sign Livingston Defender James McPake.
The 23 year old has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join City in the summer or in January, if the Sky Blues are prepared to pay.
He has made 97 starts for Livingston (with 19 sub appearances) with his debut in 2004. He has scored eight goals, been booked on 19 occasions and sent off once.
McPake, who played against City in the pre-season friendly back in July, has played three matches on loan for Morton.

Scott Dann could be out for six weeks with a dislocated shoulder.
The Coventry City captain has seen one specialist and is due to see another in Manchester tomorrow after being diagnosed with severe muscle damage after popping out his shoulder against Reading on Monday night.
"Scott's devastated and he'll be a massive loss to the team," said Steve Kean to the CT.
"You always miss your quality players in any area of the pitch and Scott's done really well.
"But Ben Turner's been really patient and I thought he did well the other night.
"We've got Hally [Marcus Hall] so those lads are obviously going to get their opportunity."

Chris Coleman has called on his injury-hit Coventry side to produce a match-winning display at bottom club Charlton on Tuesday.
As we reported on Monday Guillaume Beuzelin and Stephen Wright will both miss the game at the Valley due to knee problems, while Scott Dann, Isaac Osbourne and Leon McKenzie are missing due to respective shoulder, ankle and thigh problems.
However the Sky Blues chief is looking for his fit players to secure a much-needed win and banish the memories of last season's 4-1 defeat which almost cost the club it's Championship status.
Coleman told the Telegraph: "It is games like this if you do come back with something with the team that is available - severely weakened by bodies missing - that it can give you a little bit of a platform and confidence before we go to Watford."
He added: "When I was at Fulham and Palace and we played up north they used to call us southern softies and that's when you would find out when you look around the dressing room on a cold and wet December night who was up for it, so it is nights like that when you find people out.
"We will be underdogs but we believe we can go there and get some points."

Coventry City are understood to be offering to pay up the contract of Livingston defender James McPake in order to bring him to the Ricoh Arena in January.
The defender is out of contract in June and with City's defensive crisis, the Sky Blues are keen to take McPake, who has signed a pre-contract agreement as cover.
Chris Coleman has already said about bringing McPake in sooner rather than later: "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at our situation and see that we need a bit of help. So, with a bit of luck, if something can be done in the transfer window, then great."
About the defender, Coleman said: "We watched him a lot last year and then he played in the friendly between the clubs and did a very good job. I think he will be good for the Championship."

West Bromwich Albion could be lining up a bid for Coventry City defender Elliott Ward.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has had the former West Ham player watched on a number of occasions and is rumoured to be considering a bid for the centre half when the January transfer window opens on New Years Day.
With Scott Dann out for six weeks, City will be reluctant to let Ward leave and it may take a big cash bid for him to go to the Hawthorns, where he will be involved in a Premiership relegation dog-fight.

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has admitted that the loss of crucial players is a struggle.
With an already woefully inadequate squad, City have been hit by an injury crisis and have lost five players in recent weeks.
"Stephen Wright trained yesterday and broke down again and we are still five first-team players short, and I don't care who you are, whether you are Man United or Chelsea, if you take five players who would normally be in your team out of the equation then it is going to be a struggle," said Chris Coleman to the CT.
"But we have got to show the same cameraderie we showed on Saturday. There are going to be gaps because we are calling on guys who are just coming back into the side, but we have got to come back from Charlton and Watford with something and we are confident we can do that.
"It is important to go into this Christmas period with a strong squad of players and we haven't got that at the minute, unless that changes dramatically in the next two weeks, but at the moment we are as thin as we can be."

www.clubcall.com/wolverhampton-wanderers/fox-hunt-on-825248.htmlWhat a load of bollocks, we have 4 left backs (one of which is injured) so why do we need another one? Stephen Ward looks adequate and Matt Hill impressed me Tuesday night. One good free kick and we're being linked with a player we don't even need. Super Mick could have been in the crowd watching anybody, hopefully a central midfielder because that is what we bloody need!
