I am here, complete with cricket on the telly, marvellous stuff. I almost thought I would never make it though, women don't half go on when you're stuck on the phone to them!

We're 5/1 off 2.5, Mustard has just skied one and has gone for 2. So not too great at the moment is the answer.

I'm not sure, his job at the top of the order is so smash the ball around and make use of the powerplays. When you do that, sometimes it comes off like the other day when he make 80-odd, and some days it does, like today. He's better than Matt Prior, thats for sure (and thats coming from a Sussex lad!).

Its a shame we seem to be struggling to find a top class wicket keeper at the moment

True, its a bit like the left wing problem the footballers had a few years ago. I'd like to think that eventually someone will really step up and take the gloves for good though.

Should hope so, there is enough funding in the sport for us to be training a good group of youngster

Oh, nice bit of Durham bias there! Nah, I think you're right actually, at least he's prepared to give it a go, he's not quite Adam Gilchrist but he's not bad!
A topic of discussion to pass the time here - umpires umpiring in games involving their own countries - yay or nay? They don't do it in Tests anymore, but do in ODIs and Twenty20s. Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit wrong? I notice for example that the third umpire who didn't give that run out against Vettori the other day just happened to be a New Zealander.....

Completely wrong. Mind you, 20-20 is that daft it doesn't really matter.

Post by Dawsey on Feb 23, 2008 1:39:52 GMT
Twenty20s I can excuse yes, but they should be neutrals for ODIs. Take for example at the moment, you've go Billy Bowden doing New Zealand games whilst just across the water Simon Taufel is doing Australian games. Why not just swap them over?
