Drama too, The Sopranos, The Wire & The Shield being particularly good examples.

In terms of Drama/Action you don't get much better than 24. Plus Elisha Cuthbert is in it,

I've always had a soft spot for Kryton from Red Dwarf. Possibly one of the greatest programmes on Earth/Space is Red Dwarf.
