Thank goodness that's one Islamic tradition that hasn't been allowed despite all the Politically Correct madness that has. Still, if they ever do allow it at least a good sniper rifle should sort it fairly quickly!

If it ever did get allowed there aren't any Mosques within hearing range of my house anyway.

On balance the absence of religion would be a mixed bag. Probably would have resulted in less wars throughout the ages but in many socieities it was the glue that held things together even if many of those societies were unjust ones. Those Jehovah's Witnesses wouldn't be banging on my door either and wailing from the Mosque wouldn't wake me up every morning at dawn. Good points there...

Watched a terrible documentary last night about the South of Thailand bordering Malaysia. I don't know the history of how they came to be there but Thailand has been a unified country since the 14th century. However, in the last year alone Muslim separatists have murdered over 100 teachers in a bid to gain independence - this in a state populated by 96.4% Buddhists.
I know most of us believe that the majority of Muslims are ordinary, decent folk just like most Christians but, boy are the remainder a threat to world peace!

Just came across this and found it quite amusing.
"Christianity. The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree... yeah, makes perfect sense".

What's wrong with that?

Someone said this to me the other day and I found it quite funny... and true!
"When somone says 'God loves you!' Its sort of sweet in a weird way. When someone says 'Jesus loves you!' You know they're a nutcase..."

And if a bloke in your street says he loves you then he's a pervert.

That's a thought - how did Jesus get away with it?

You think they crucified him for being gay then Ben? Wow, you do have it in for religion.

Saw this quote & thought it was brilliant:
"Religion is basically killing each other to see who's got the better imaginary friend" Richard Jeni

I like the quote but it isn't entirely true, is it? I mean, Buddhists and all that...

You're right Ben. But then they don't go around killing people in the name of religion so I guess we can exempt them?
