I think Swindon, Chelsea, Saints & probably England fans would disagree. I know he had a lot of draws at Wolves but surely that's better than losing all the matches?

I think Swindon, Chelsea, Saints & probably England fans would disagree. I know he had a lot of draws at Wolves but surely that's better than losing all the matches? He also played strikers on the wings (even when there were no injuries to our wingers), spent £1.3m on a striker that scored 0 times in 20 appearances and got virtually no service.. destroying said striker's career in the process. He played a left winger in the centre of midfield. He had Joleon Lescott, Jody Craddock, Lee Naylor, Paul Ince , Seol, Kenny Miller, Mark Kennedy and Carl Cort already at the club yet couldn't get us promoted and managed to get us to finish 7th! He signed Rohan Ricketts and Darren Anderton which is a COMPLETE JOKE. When the club was in a sticky situation what did he do? He put his tail between his legs and he fled, knob head. 2 weeks before the season we only had 12 senior players on our books, so he ran because he couldn't deal with it! He is a useless, completely clueless prat. A boring, average manager who wouldn't be able to inspire the best players in the world. He'd make Cristiano Ronaldo look average.

Well Sam, you're entitled to your opinion & I do agree with you on one thing - I doubt he's a particularly inspirational manger as he has a bit of a colourless personality. None the less, he's actually been a pretty successful manager except for Spurs, ironically!

Who will the next manager be Tim? Hello my Lee Bowyer loving friend...... I have a feeling that it may well be Micky Adams who comes in as the next boss.He is out of work & he lives in the area and is friends with Le Tiss & Doddsy etc etc,he loves the club and is quite a popular figure amongst most fans.He isn't the man i would like in charge if i had a choice "but i don't" so i hope he does well IF he gets the job.I would like to see Ince ,Shearer, Coleman or the Messiah (Hoddle)..

Dodd and Gorman in charge "for foreseeable future" Saints have officially announced that John Gorman and Jason Dodd will remain in charge of the first team "for the foreseeable future". The club, which is conducting ongoing talks over new investment, said the pair had "earned the right to continue in their caretaker roles by making a huge impact during their three-game tenure." A statement on the club's website said: "There has been a marked change in determination which is now the best it has been since the surge to the play-offs at the end of last season while performances have been far more positive." Chairman Leon Crouch said: "We are delighted John and Jason have agreed to stay in charge of the team. They have done a terrific job so far and I know this will be a popular move with the whole squad. "They are experienced, they know the game inside out and they are positive and enthusiastic - and that has clearly rubbed off on the players who are showing more passion. "I really believe that the Spirit of Southampton can carry us forward now because we have a united club with good people who want to be here and to do well and to take us back to the Premiership. "I am a positive person and this is a positive decision made for all the right reasons. We are still in the FA Cup with a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals and we still remain convinced we can make the play-offs because I know the players will give their all for John and Jason. "This makes a lot of sense. We have seen plenty of good people and it has been a very difficult decision and one which the board have not taken lightly. "Given the way the team have performed in the last three games and the way the players have responded, we feel it is right for John and Jason to stay in charge. "We always said we would take our time to make sure we appoint the right person and that is what we are doing. There is no rush because we are very happy with what John and Jason are doing. "In the meantime we will continue our hunt for new investment." Acting chief executive Lee Hoos added: "We are talking to a couple of potentially interested parties but I must stress those negotiations are still in very early stages and may or may not lead to anything. "The Stock Exchange announcement we put out this week was at the request of the Takeover Panel. It does not mean there is anything imminent but regulations mean it is difficult for us to say much more. "However, we will keep fans informed as much as possible. We have said all along that this club does represent a fantastic opportunity for someone because it has a tremendous infrastructure, great facilities and a first-class staff as well as a terrific group of players and coaches. "John and Jason have the respect and support of the players who are all battling for each other and for the club with fresh impetus. That was shown at Crystal Palace where we got a late equaliser to earn a result for the first time since the play-off semi-final in May. "We have a stable squad and a strong board which is more united than it has been at any time in the past four years. We still have serious ambitions to make the play-offs and we believe John and Jason can provide the spark to get us there with the kind of run we had at the tail-end of last season. "Hopefully this will now end the speculation and uncertainty and enable us to focus fully on reaching at least the last eight of the FA Cup and mounting a strong challenge for the play-offs."

Saints sign Pearce on-loan
Nigel Pearson has moved quickly to make Ian Pearce his first signing as Saints boss.
The experienced 33-year-old Fulham centre half joins on a one month loan and comes straight into contention for a place in the starting line-up at Scunthorpe tomorrow with Andrew Davies and Darren Powell both injury doubts for the game.
Pearson said: "I'm delighted to have brought Ian Pearce in on loan.
"He's an experienced head. Calm, confident and a quality player."
Pearce has featured in every Premier League season since it began in 1992 and has a top flight winner's medal form his spell at Blackburn.
He has also played for West Ham and Fulham after starting his career as a trainee at Chelsea.

Pearson's plea to fans
NIGEL Pearson has asked all Saints fans "to draw a line underneath what has gone before" and start afresh this weekend.
The new manager sends his relegation-threatened side out at St Mary's on Saturday against Jim Magilton's play-off chasing Ipswich Town.
Preston's shock win against leaders Stoke on Tuesday has dragged Saints firmly into the relegation scrap - Pearson's men are now just four points off the drop zone with 12 games left.
Eight of those 12 games are against sides in the top half of the table, starting this Saturday.
And Pearson, joining in the Daily Echo Dell Spirit campaign, admits he needs all Saints fans to pump up the volume against the Tractor Boys.
"It's got to be a two-way thing," said Pearson.
"It would be lovely to have all the fans behind the team.
"But at the same time I will never abstain from my responsibilities either.
"I know the players have to give the fans something to shout about as well.
"We have to produce the goods too.
"We need to keep a calm head, not look at what other teams are doing. We can only influence the games we play in - that's what I will be preaching to the players.
"We have to give the fans a lift, give them something to believe in.
"If it's a case of having to win some of them back, so be it.
"I would just ask all the supporters to draw a line under what has gone on and start again."

Saints deny Walcott money rumours
Southampton have denied speculation they need an early settlement on the Theo Walcott deal with Arsenal to stave off administration. Reports suggested their overdraft limit has been exceeded and the club is under pressure from their bank.
Chairman Leon Crouch said: "Like all clubs we have an overdraft facility, but we have not exceeded ours."
Walcott was sold to the Gunners in 2006 for a fee rising with staged payments to around £12m.
Crouch added: "There is a lot we would like to say in response to this story but unfortunately we have been placed in an offer period by the Stock Exchange who insist we remain in it, and whose rules therefore prevent us from talking about financial matters.
"What we can say is that Barclays continue to be supportive and we have a positive relationship.
"This kind of scaremongering, which has many inaccuracies, does the club no good at all."

George just put me in the stands - Licka
Mario Licka admits he is glad to see the back of George Burley.
After signing the versatile midfielder from Banik Ostrava on a free transfer 18 months ago, Burley did not include Licka in a Championship starting line-up for the last year of his spell as Saints manager.
But after recalling the Czech to the first-team squad for his second match in charge, Nigel Pearson handed the 25-year-old his first league start in 14 months against Ipswich Town.
Licka responded with a man-of-the-match performance in an unfamiliar role on the left flank.
So why his exclusion under Burley?
Licka said: "I don't know why I didn't play more under George Burley - that is a question for George Burley.
"I did my best in training and for the reserves and felt the least I deserved was a chance. But he didn't give it.
"He never told me what I should do to play, he just put me in the stand.
"It was very frustrating, because I knew I would never play under George Burley.
"The city of Southampton, the club, the stadium and the fans are perfect - I couldn't complain about that - but I missed playing football.
"It was a long period but now that situation is over. When I knew a new manager was coming I wanted to stay and try to prove to him I'm a good footballer.
"I was really happy when Nigel Pearson gave me a chance."

Ricketts on trial at Southampton
Former England and Bolton striker Michael Ricketts has been handed a trial at Southampton. Ricketts is a free agent after having his contract cancelled by Oldham in January and is looking to kickstart his career at Southampton.
His England debut came against Holland in 2002 and the 29-year-old also had spells at Middlesbrough and Preston.
"It never hurts to have a look at players and with his record he's worth it," said Saints boss Nigel Pearson.

Pearson vents fury on duo
Southampton boss Nigel Pearson has spoken of his anger over the alleged misconduct of Bradley Wright-Phillips and Nathan Dyer.
The duo’s future at the club is unclear following CCTV footage in a national newspaper showing the pair in a nightclub room which is at the centre of theft allegations.
Pearson is reported to have fined them two weeks’ wages and he told a Saints fans’ forum that Wright-Phillips has been dropped, but the injured Dyer escaped this fate for the time being.
It was unacceptable behaviour and I dealt with it as strongly as I could,” Pearson said.
“I take an exceptionally dim view of it. One player is injured and the other is now unavailable because I have deemed him unavailable.”
Pearson says the pair have fallen below the very high standards he expects from members of his playing staff

Crouch's apology to Saints fans
SAINTS chairman Leon Crouch apologised to fans last night for the club's current plight - but reiterated his belief that new investment would be found "hopefully within six to nine months."
Crouch was speaking before the Dell Spirit Rally at Central Hall, St Mary's, organised by the Southampton Independent Supporters Association.
Despite the group expecting more than 700 people to turn up for the chance to quiz boss Nigel Pearson, Crouch and fellow directors such as Lawrie McMenemy, just 75 had arrived by the time the meeting started at 8pm, half an hour late.
The Daily Echo was also forced to leave before proceedings began, with SISA representatives saying the club had threatened to walk out if members of the press remained.
But, ahead of the forum, Crouch told the Daily Echo: "We can't hide the fact that the fans deserve better and I'm sorry about that.
"Eighteen months ago, when Rupert (Lowe) resigned and Michael (Wilde) took over, we all thought the club had a different future and we'd get back to the Premier-ship. But things haven't worked out that way.
"We've drawn a line under that and are moving forward. We have a united board now and I believe the fans realise I am doing my best.
"We are trying to get investment. It's not easy but I believe we will get the investment the club needs.
"I can't guarantee when, but hopefully with-in six to nine months - in time for us to mount a serious challenge next season to get back to where we belong, in the Premiership."

Pericard available for clash with Hull
SAINTS boss Nigel Pearson is delighted to have increased competition for places with the loan signing of former Pompey striker Vincent Pericard.
The 25 year-old signed until the end of the season from Stoke City yesterday afternoon.
Pericard who started his career at French side St Etienne before having spells at Juventus, Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Plymouth and then Stoke, met up with his new team-mates last night and will be available for selection against promotion chasers Hull City this afternoon.
Pearson said: "To get some fresh faces in is good for us and we are delighted to have him on board. It heightens the competition and that will be good.

Southampton capture keeper Wright
Southampton have completed the signing of keeper Richard Wright on a one-month loan deal from West Ham. Wright, 30, is second choice to Robert Green at Upton Park and has made just three Carling Cup outings this season.
The ex-England stopper is set to make his debut in the relegation battle against Coventry on Saturday.
"I am delighted to have got Richard. He is a proven goalkeeper with plenty of experience," Southampton manager Nigel Pearson told the club's website.
Southampton made the move after losing three keepers in a month to injuries.
First-choice keeper Kelvin Davis is out after dislocating a finger when he caught it in another player's shorts.
Bartosz Bialkowski was ruled out for the season after his thumb got in the way of a goal-line clearance while playing for the reserves.
And, Michael Poke, only recently recalled from a loan spell at non-league Torquay, suffered an ankle-ligament injury during the warm-up ahead of Saints' 5-0 drubbing at Hull - although he completed the game.
Pearson added: "It is a bizarre run of injuries but there is no point being negative.
"We had to address the situation and I am very pleased to have Richard on board."

Saints chairman hits out at Lowe
Southampton chairman Leon Crouch has labelled the timing of Rupert Lowe's interest in returning to the St Mary's club as "horrendous". Lowe confirmed to BBC Radio Solent this week that an attempted takeover of the Championship club was an option.
But, with Saints currently battling the drop, Crouch said: "Why choose a moment when we should be behind manager Nigel Pearson and the team?"
This weekend Saints host Coventry, the side directly below them in the table.
"It is potentially one of the most important fixtures in the club's history and we need everyone to be united," added Crouch.
"Right now we need as many fans as possible to turn out and give the team their full backing and help us to a win which could mean so much."
Lowe is set to form an unlikely alliance with another former chairman and majority shareholder, Michael Wilde, and Crouch has asked the pair to provide further details of their proposals to take the club forward.
BBC Radio Solent revealed last week that lawyer and Saints fan Jonathan Fulthorpe was also preparing a consortium bid for the club. The station also understands that Lowe has met with Fulthorpe.

Davies ruled out for Southampton
Southampton captain Andrew Davies has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a facial injury. The former Middlesbrough defender has undergone an operation on his fractured cheekbone which will keep him on the sidelines for six weeks.
"It's a huge disappointment for him, for us and for the fans," said Southampton manager Nigel Pearson.
The Saints are currently just two points above the Championship's relegation zone.
Pearson added: "Andrew had a depressed fracture by his eye socket, and although I'm not a medical man, i believe there was a possibility of sight loss if he played and got hurt. That's a risk we're certainly not prepared to take."
